Louthunder August 20th, 2011, 08:32 AM Why is it that when I download this forum,it is very slow downloading? It is the only thing that is slow for my computer. Every other thing I click comes up instantanious but everytime I click on a page on the TDPRI,it take 5 or 6 seconds to download. I have a new and very fast computer,so it's not my computer. I love this forum, but w/the slow speeds, I find myself checking out the TDPRI less, and this is one of my favorite Forums!!
TDPRI August 20th, 2011, 12:11 PM Others aren't having this problem. It's something on your end. Out of the 180,000 people that come here every day, only YOU are complaining of the issue.
I wish I could tell you what it is on your end that's causing it. But you can try these things.
1. Log out and clear your cookies -- simply click the Log Out button on the top right hand side of the forum menu bar. This will clear your TDPRI cookies.
2. Turn off your Anti-Virus program and see if it makes a difference. If it does, then set up you AV program to exclude tdpri.com.
3. Turn off ad blockers or other browser ad ons you are using that could be causing your issues.
4. Try another browser. Try another computer. Next time you are somewhere that you can use another computer, one that's not set up like yours, that doesn't use your network try logging in to the TDPRI and you'll see that suddenly the site is very fast. This will prove to you that the problem is yours and that you'll need to find a way to correct the issue.
Sorry I can't help you more than that. But I don't have any idea what it is that you've set up on your computer that is causing your problem. But rest assured, the rest of us aren't seeing the same issue that you are.
gionnio August 21st, 2011, 06:20 AM I'm reading messages from a hotel in Shanghai at the moment, and am pleasantly surprised that even the great firewall isn't slowing it down.
rolling56 September 4th, 2011, 04:29 PM Instead of starting a new thread i'll just bump this one.
Very slow for me today. I've got 12 tabs running on Firefox and all my other sites are lightning fast but this place..........
sacizob September 4th, 2011, 04:44 PM This has happened to me before. Everyone said their TDPRI was running fine, but mine was slow (only on this forum). Well I complained, just like you did and come to find out the TDPRI had done some tweaking that caused it. BTW mine is running fine now. Are you getting a lot of red X's in boxes? If so, let them now it might help to find the problem.

I have 50 MB dl service.

rolling56 September 5th, 2011, 02:17 PM ah k my modem has been resetting all by itself today so i called my ISP and they said my modem has problems so hopefully will get that fixed tomorrow morning when they get here.
TDPRI September 6th, 2011, 12:18 AM As I keep saying, we have hundreds of thousands that are seeing no slowing of this site. The problem is usually isolated to you or to your ISP service.
Hope you get it solved.

Well at first TDPRI was the only slow site out of the 15+ tabs i have open but then things just fell out. I got a new modem from my ISP yesterday but i noticed last night it dropped signal again. He said he was putting in a report to the lineman to check all the buried cables around here so maybe they will find the problem.
And ya i hope this gets resolved also......i hate paying a company on time for the last 7 years and then get crap service from them. The first time he came yesterday he left without at least giving me another modem. When i called in after he left and said everything was fine, i told them i wanted my billing adjusted to cover my crappy service time and they said they would so we'll see when the bill comes next month.
My phone is also connected to the modem so being without a phone i not good........
Sorry to have bothered you but i thought it was on TDPRI's end
TDPRI September 7th, 2011, 07:29 PM Sorry for your trouble. Always keep in mind about the thousands of members and visitors we have here. If the problem was on our end when you checked in here you'd see dozens of posts complaining about the problem. If you don't see everyone chiming in with similar issues then you can guess that it's on your end.
We work SUPER hard to keep this ship running well. In fact, we've just signed a contract for a new server that is twice as big and twice as safe but of course it costs nearly twice as much as well.
That said, we will have a bunch of downtime when we move to the new server. But that will be in a few weeks and we'll make plenty of announcements in advance.
UPDATE:
On any given day, individual members can have issues with their access to any number of websites. We work very hard to keep the TDPRI working optimally. If you have a problem, but see no one else reporting issues, then it's most likely an issue on your end and nothing more. If there is a general problem, we'll post an announcement. Thanks.
