Volitan August 13th, 2011, 01:45 PM I want them in a Tele really bad...played a strat that had 3 of them (golds??) and it sounded pretty nice...so I pull up thier site, and the only make one type of pickup for tele
I was really disappointed. Why the heck do we tele guys get ripped off in the pickup realm?
callaway August 13th, 2011, 01:58 PM There are tons of places out there offering a wide selection of Tele pickups. Kinman, Lawrence, Barden, Fralin, to name a few. Heck, you can even get noiseless Tele pickups from big guys like DiMarzo.

I agree, but look at how many Strat pickups and Humbuckers the big guys make comapred to tele pickups....
Teleterr August 13th, 2011, 05:18 PM Lol. Laces Bridge Tele is just one of their Blue Strats on a Tele base.Go ahead and use a Strat Gold for the bridge it will be the same. It would be easy for them to mount a Gold on a Tele base (it was easy for me to remove it) Send them a email they might do it. I would think a gold might fit in the neck no problem.
candybluecrook August 13th, 2011, 09:47 PM Adder makes lace sensor tele pups I believe. I know that the neck pup on my tele is like and responds like a lace. Look for the chrome brad paisley neck pup. Also peter Florance would be able to hook you up. Call and talk to Peter, he custom winds too.

Teleterr August 13th, 2011, 09:54 PM Others make Lace Sensor clones ?! The design is unique and patented. Is it under license? It seems like there would be issues if not.
Teleterr August 13th, 2011, 10:01 PM I went to the site; they're on vacation or something. Is your neck Adder set super close to the strings like a Lace?
twintwelve August 13th, 2011, 10:08 PM Look for a used set on eBay.

Yeah pretty close. If I recall adder was part of the lace sensor company once upon a time. Some call them lipstick tube pups. I know they're very good sounding pups, and very potent. I believe they're about 7k and very robust

Teleterr August 13th, 2011, 10:27 PM Ah, makes sense now, he might have codesigner rights to use that design as a platform.

Here y'go! Thats the Strat Blue on a Tele base , he likes the Gold's sound.Again, just use 2 Strat Golds.
Volitan August 19th, 2011, 01:06 AM So they can put the Strat PU's on a tele base for you?
Teleterr August 19th, 2011, 09:56 AM Maybe, ask them. The Tele base is Aluminum so its not a sound factor. I'd put a Strat Gold in a Strat pickguard and cut the area surrounding the slot into a rough tele base shape and drill the 3 holes. Adjust its height w the 2 Strat screws first then fine tune w the 3 Teles.
' burn 08 August 19th, 2011, 10:04 AM have you checked out any tele pluses yet? I think they originally had blue in the bridge and red in the neck and changed later to three golds.
Teleterr August 19th, 2011, 11:33 AM Blue neck,red-red bridge. But those were w a HB route. Volitan , what kind of Tele are you wanting to put Lace in.Trad or HB bridge?
Golem August 19th, 2011, 12:02 PM I wanted to know about this as well because I like the lace sensor light blues, wanted a hard-tail, and did not think that three pickups would be a whole lot more useful than having two (therefore a tele made sense).
The customer service rep I e-mailed told me that the tele pickups set is a blue in the bridge and a silver in the neck.
I did find one example on youtube of someone having a custom tele made and the maker modified the lace sensors to fit in a tele. I am not tele expert but when I asked around people on forums such as this suggested this would require putting a tele baseplate on, and modifying both the neck routing and the pickguard in a tele.
All this made me go back to thinking a hardtail strat was easier and more versatile (assuming I don't use three of the same pickup).
I like the sound of lace sensors enough that I am planning on upgrading my dual humbucker guitar with a set of blue/golds using triple shots.
My personal favorite lace sensor is still the light blue though.
Teleterr August 19th, 2011, 12:16 PM My suggestion will work for the bridge.I think a Lace Strat should fit the neck without routing but thats not for sure.

Apparently the guy who started Adder, who I here is no longer alive, was one of the Lace family and some say he was the one who designed the lace pickups before some sort of falling out in the family company happened.
If it was not for this, I never would have known about this company at all. The problem for me is, then, that there are not many sound samples for this pickup.
