I was just mowing the lawn, and thinking about the fact that tomorrow night, I get to see Randy Stonehill and that I'd probably post up here afterward what a great player he is, how he was my first Tele influence and that if you get to see him, do.

Then it occurred to me that there might be another guy out here who has missed this. So if you are a Stonehill fan and live near Birmingham, AL - "Uncle Rand" is coming tomorrow night! If you don't know, he's been playing since the "Jesus Rock" days, and was very popular in the 1980s. He mostly does acoustic shows now.

Good on ya! I've seen Uncle Rand a couple of times. Equator might be my favorite album of his. I probably still have my Rocketeer Club card around here somewhere.

Saw him back in the late '70's and quite a few times since then. Was never too thrilled with all of the "drama" that was happening between Randy and Larry, but it just showed their human side, warts and all. I hope you enjoy the show. He's one of my favorite left handed players (that plays right).

I remember mixing for him in a church in Whittier, Calif back in the 1970's His set list was on the back of a bank deposit slip. Glad to see that he is still active and playing.

Yep, it was a great show and Randy is just a fantastic player. I didn't realize that he is a fingerpicker! The Show was mostly acoustic, but he just fills the room with fantastic sound. I am so thankful to get to see him. This is one of my major influences on my playing and my faith. Would love to see him slinging a Tele again.

Randy Called this the "Best Friend" shot.
