Yairi DY-62C pickup problem [Archive] - Telecaster Guitar Forum

I have a 2001 Yairi DY62C that I bought brand new in 2001. It has the System 600T MKII Acoustic Preamp/EQ in it. Just recently I've noticed that when I put a new battery in it, the Red Battery Indicator light stays on, without the instrument cable being plugged in. According to the Alvarez website, the light should only come on when the tuner is activated or the instrument cable is plugged in. It seems to work fine as long as the battery is new. However, it kills a new battery in a few days now and it's aggrivating to have to plug and unplug the battery just to keep it alive. It only recently started doing this and I've replaced about half a dozen batteries so far. Anyone have a solution or experience the same problem? Could the input jack be screwed up and cause it to drain the battery somehow???
