J. Hayes August 4th, 2011, 01:40 PM I just bought another Bigsby Palm Pedal from a guy on the Steel Guitar Forum. This makes a grand total of five guitars with the device. I love these things and will probably get a couple more of 'em in the future. Anyone else have one (or two)? Here's a couple of shots of the "herd"....JH in Va.
jmiles August 4th, 2011, 02:35 PM Jerry! Nice herd! I've got to try the Bigsby out some day. But,,, being a fingerpicker, I'm not sure it would work well for me.

J. Hayes August 4th, 2011, 03:20 PM I'm a fingerpicker as well and the BPP works better for us than for flatpickers although my first "hero" of the BPP (Al Bruno) used a flatpick, he was a hybrid player the the nth degree. Here's a shot of Al at a show in Las Vegas and a shot of he and I (me on steel) at a honky tonk in Vegas a few years ago.....JH in Va.

Damn, Jerry, I thought this was a Tele forum!!! Curious, are they all set for B and G? Both whole steps?
gumbo August 5th, 2011, 07:32 AM Well done Jerry!

jmiles August 5th, 2011, 10:09 AM Hey Jerry!
You a barefoot/stockings player?
JB
orangeblossom August 5th, 2011, 10:26 AM Nice collection Jerry. I still have the one you traded me for my gold one. They are a lotta fun. I swapped out my nut for a graphite nut and I find my axe stays in tune better. Cheers.
J. Hayes August 7th, 2011, 09:41 AM Teles ain't the only B-Benders out there.....and yes, they're all set for whole step bends. I've got a deal cooking now for another one to put on a Memphis Les Paul Copy. It's all set up for slide with an open E tuning, raised nut and high action. I currently have an Epiphone EZ Bender on it which is only a B lever and I want be able to raise the 3rd string (G#) to A also.
JB...I tried out the stocking foot thing on steel for a while but I've went back to the good old "fruit boots" with the zipper up the side and pointy cowboy boot toe as with my big feet (size 12) I can get better separation of the pedals........
Here's a shot of the Memphis LP with the EZ Bender.....JH in Va.
telex76 August 9th, 2011, 03:56 PM Nice collection. I've never tried the palm pedals, but I've heard a couple guys make them sound real nice.

I've seen the patent for that bender but I wasn't aware that any actually made it into production. How well does it work? Do you have to take it apart to put it in the case?
J. Hayes August 10th, 2011, 12:50 PM the Epiphone EZ bender works very well and is probably the easiest bender to install of all of 'em. All you do is take off you B string, set the unit on the stud tailpiece and tighten an Allen screw. Then you stick the string on and push it through the hole in the middle of the Allen screw. It then goes under a roller on the front of the device, then over the bridge to the peghead and tune 'er up. You can install one and install the string in about three minutes.
As far as taking it apart to put it in the case, you don't have to do that at all. You simply detune the string about a tone to take a little of the tension off and then you just twist the back half of the unit sideways then close your case. When you want to use it again just twist it back up and tighten the B string back to pitch.
I have two of these units, paid about twenty bucks for one and about thirty five for the other..........JH in Va.
