Worship Service Players Hidden?

Whenever I look at my profile and go to "threads by this user" or "posts by this user", it never shows my contributions to the worship service players forum. Is this done on purpose, or is it (hopefully) just some kind of weird accident? Do those posts even count towards my post count?!?

Yes. I think the moderators try to keep this forum low key.

Do those posts even count towards my post count?!?

Is this important to you?

I now realize that comment did not come across as sarcastic as I meant it to be. My bad.

It just seems VERY misleading to say "ALL posts by this user", then omit some because they are embarrassing to the forum.

I'll just say this...the worship players forum is sensitive around here and I imagine there are some folks who would like to see it shut down. It has come close a few times. So best not to rock the boat if you know what I mean.

It is done on purpose. Posts in the Worship Service Players forum are not included in our search results. Posts there do not count toward your post count as a result.

When i click on "New Posts" the Worship posts show up as do all the others. I hope it continues that way.

Actually, we were working to keep that from happening as well. So, I would guess that at some time in the future that will go away.

Again, why?

Dude- don't push it. I know you're trying to make a point, but this site isn't a democracy. We are very fortunate to have this forum on this website. If the mods get too many headaches from it they will close it down. It's really not a hassle to have these functions disabled.

When I post in WSP, I always just find another thread to put a +1 so I keep my average post count up.

I'm not trying to change the forum policy, I am just asking why it is there. My bad if it came across that way...

It's to keep it low profile.

Yes, it's done this way to keep a low profile. We are not a religious forum. There are plenty of those available to people. We are not that.

Before starting the Worship Players Forum we had people posting about playing in Church in the main forum (at the time, we only had 2 or 3 forums). Too often, these turned into religious debates and arguments. We started the Worship Players forum to segregate those posts from the main forums.

But too many evangelical Christians want to make that forum the Christian Guitar Forum and we have to constantly work on keeping it simply a playing guitar in church forum.

When WPF was in the Search engine, we had more fights and problems because too many people were posting in the forum that didn't think that the forum should exist.

In reality, we should close that forum and tell folks to go elsewhere for that kind of specific issue posting. But we agreed to keep the forum open while making it more low key by removing it from post counts/searches.

As you can tell by those that say, "sheesh, don't rock the boat" they realize that I think that forum doesn't belong on the TDPRI. And they are kind of correct, out of site is out of mind in this case.

Ok, that makes more sense. Sorry for any trouble I caused...

Great explaination and it makes perfect sense. Thanks for posting it.
