Hello, not sure if this is the place for this topic,I'm wanting to build my own tele,is there anything i should look out for when buying the body and neck?
All the hardware will be bought from a genuine dealer so its the body and neck im worried about.

Welcome to TDPRI! I built a strat using Warmoth body/neck.... check em out. There's alot of people around here with great building experience & expertise. You might want to repost in the builder's section.

Hello!
Dom, where are the "skills" coming from?
If you don't have them you gotta cultivate them first.
I got my start years back tearing apart and rebuilding, eventually upgrading and reinventing Squiers until I knew my way around the assembly process.
Now, even though I make some of my own parts and assemble some guitars entirely from scratch parts, I'm still not a "builder" but just an assembler.
I like USACG a lot but in order to be truly impressed and appreciative of these expensive items, you've got to build a base of hands on experience. Unless you're hiring someone else to do the work, you've jumped past some steps that come before your Thread question. Respectfully.

+1 to what everyone else has said already. It sounds to me that you just want to assemble a partscaster. When I started, I went to Ebay and Craigslist, even trading with other forum members for parts. I bought new parts (bodies/necks) as cheaply as possible from places like GFS (Guitar Fetish Store). While not the highest of quality, I was able to learn for minimal price without worry of messing some expensive stuff up.
Oh, and welcome aboard!

The only downside to warmoth necks is their weight due to the double truss rod set up they use.
Think about finish before you start, it can affect the woods you can use, I mean there's little point in putting a nice top under a solid colour where it will never be seen.
Also if your not sure about finishing, you can order the body and neck finished.
