Leather Stratocaster Pickguard Prototype

I made this for my brother who is visiting from Tacoma, its going on his Antique White Strat, let me know what ya think!! They are guite a bit more work and leather so they're going to be $40 instead of $30 like the Tele ones.

John I dont own a strat, but I mocked it up on my G&L S-500. I will get photos of it on a Strat when my brother mounts it. Thanks!

thanks so much! I actually just got some new Antique Mahogany and Antique Brown dye I'm itchin to try out lol

I could definitely make one for that (and think it would look killer on one of those) I would either need to buy a pickguard for the template or if you had an old one to send, I could send it back to you with the finished piece.

Which pickups are you using??

Thanks bud! I agree def not white, its all I had on hand. I'm making one for my G&L that will have black pickup covers and chrome knobs, although I may dye that one with antique mahogany.

That Tele in your avatar is among my favorite non-paisley guitars. I'm sure the Strat will look equally cool with that pickguard. Chrome would look really good I think. I don't think you can go wrong, even with white.

I made that one for my Tele and its inadvertently turned into a little side business lol Thats an affinity I took some 0000 steel wool to the body and neck, did the shoe polish trick to the neck, and added the pickguard, made a huge difference in my opinion. I also put some dragonfire pickups in.

i'm building a 59 junior DC, with a single minitron in the bridge. i do have an old pickguard i could send you for a template. what would something like this be priced at?

For one that size $40.if you don't need the old pickguard and send it to me to keep to use for future pickguards. I would take $10 off the price.

that sounds good. i have a pickguard i can send, but the screwholes i need may not be the standard, so the guard may or may not be helpful to you as a complete template. the shape is correct though.
