Holy grail R.I.P.???

I've blown my (new  ) EH Holy Grail, I guess, because my universal power supply doesn't fit the working tension of the pedal (I live in Italy where the genuine EH power supply can't be used @ 220V ac)

People at EH told me that - no way - I have to get a new one @99 bucks plus shipping... but, heck! this pedal is built like a tank... why throw the whole stuff away instead of a simple guts change (or even better the burned component only...)

Anyone??
:(

Thanks
Fabio

I bet that getting someone to look at the pedal and possibly do component-level repair will run you nearly the cost of a new pedal, unless you have a relative or good friend who does this kind of work. What power supply were you using? I use a Godlyke Powerall and it is apparently usable with any input AC voltage (you would need to get an AC plug adapter). I use the blue adapter cable pigtail for the Holy Grail and it seems to work fine (for the past year).
