My band was going to record at my house on the Apple with Logic but due to my AC going south (the control/circuit board thingy had a relay blow, now its replaced) that was not going to work. Especially with this heat and having to have the windows closed to prevent outside noise creeping in.

So, one of the guys booked a session at a local studio (some guy's house) and we are scheduled to cut ONE track there tomorrow.

I will be using my ZT Lunchbox as the main amp, a few pedals, my Hallmark 60's Custom and for fattening up the rhythm and for leads I will be bring along my JD10. I just was using it here at the house through my recording set up and it does sound more amp-like than any of the built in sims in Logic or Tone Port.
Just add some reverb or delay and it sounds great. Of course that why it was invented in the first place but being the first(?) it still sounds great.

Wish I can get another.

Looks to me like you just need to let the river flow.

Well it is finished. The song was recorded to coincide with the release of a G. D. Falksen book called "Blood in the Skies". As a tie-in they are putting together a steampunk compilation album.

The deadline to have a finished track is July 31st.

The engineer is originally from Borneo and has a day job as a taxi driver but he also records bands and videos weddings for the indonesian community. Not only did he pick up on what we were trying to do, he worked real fast and was professional all the way. Plus he had some top notch gear like API lunchboxes and expensive condenser micas. This guy knows his stuff.

Here is what we accomplished in a little studio in the basement of a South Philly row home.

We nailed the backing track in two takes. All overdubs and vocals were done fairly quickly and we had everything done at 4pm. We started at noon. We walked out with a kick-ass track.

The big factor on getting it done was that we rehearsed at the bass players house at 10am the same day and ran down the song 4 times. This was at my request.

Now after telling all this I can not at this time post an MP3 of the track until we hear from the publisher because they have an exclusive to the material but soon as the OK is given I will post a link to the track.

I love it when a plan comes together.
