I picked up my 3-tone Sunburst 72' Pawn Shop telestrat today. Really nicely finished. Mint green pickguard. Got her home and she sounds great! Sustain to die for! Really looking forward to getting to know her better. Light too. Here are some pics:

I think this is a cool line. Some interesting combinations of specs. Nice to see some reworkings of the Mustang.

Though the thought of playing anything Chappers might have been near makes me feel physically sick.

May I suggest you watch the video above or check the specs on Fender's page. They can sum it up for you much better than my feeble attempt to describe it for you!

my buddy just got the Mustang in red! It is one of the nicest sounding guitars I have ever heard, ever! If my Blacktop tele sounded as good, I would be a happy man! The PU's are incredible and the variety of sounds you get are amazing. He also has the telecaster version of the Pawnshop, not bad, but does nor sound as good or versatile as the mustang! IMHO

Been playing a 72 Surf Green since June 2011 and I really love that guitar. It shares the position of being my main gig guitar with my MIJ 80s Telecaster. The wide range hb is really good as is the engforcer in the bridge. It really roars through my Orange TH30 with a Morley wha/boost in front. The neck is very comfortable and I wish I could get à couple of those necks to build a telemaster. I did however sand the back of the neck with 800 grit since I do not like glossy necks. It is now very smooth. This is à truly well built guitar that might not suit everybody, but it suits me. And I also like its looks.

Picked up a couple of '51's and a '72. Well worth the price I paid for these MIJ Pawn Shop Series. Outstanding quality and build. But then again, I can't leave a good thing alone, new pickups and control mods for all! The new 2012 models of the Pawn Shop Series are MIM. Not sure of the quality. We'll see once either Guitar Center or Cream City gets them in.

Try dropping a WRHB into your Blacktop... I've never been enthralled with the HB's don't they put in those stock. If you can get the wide-ranges in there I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Really cool looking rigs guys, I've been wanting to get my hands on a 72, and that Mustang looks VERY cool (not that I need another dual WRHB guitar, but it certainly looks cool aye.)

Cheers
