Clean Boost Location. First vs. Ge Fuzz

I have researched all prior 'clean boost in chain' threads...everyone said first to interact with guitars pickups.

I have an Analogman Sunface NKT275. Being Ge and very finicky, it does best first...

So, my quandry is, which goes first?

I like the boost to go first. However, if you use a auto wah or envelope filter these should always go first because the guitar's signal will affect the quack (Q). If you run the boost before any envelope filter or auto wah, the boost will change the Q.

I use a envelope filter so my boost goes after. YMMV

I use the clean boost as a signal boost for single coils (get the tubes cookin'). So usually I want that first, but the Sunface is said to go first...

And no, I don't use an envelope thingy or auto wah.

It often depends on what you want the boost to do. If you want to kick your dirt pedals in the pants, then put the boost first. If you just want a boost for solos, or whatever, then it should go after your dirt pedals.

I have a boost pedal right after my wah and before my dirt pedals, and another one towards the end of the chain just for a volume boost.

The most important thing to consider is, of course, what sounds best to your ears. If it doesn't sound good before the Sunface, then that's that.

I know I have to try it, but running the clean boost before the sunface, will it mess up the dynamics/sensitivity of the Sunface?

It might. The boosts that I have affect all of my dirt pedals. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so good.

I personally like boost-OD-boost. 2 levels of gain saturation, 2 levels of volume and everything in between using guitar's volume.

Analog Man has his own opinion on that particular question: he did answer when creating the Sun Lion, which goes guitar -> Sunface -> Beano Boost.
I've had the Beano Boost for a while and I really dig it after a good germanium fuzz.

It would depend on if the boost was a buffered pedal or not, and if the pedals down the chain where true bypass or not. For me anyway... And how many feet of cable I am using to get to the board, and from the board to the amp...
And a dozen other things probably...

My first 3 pedals go vox wah (true bypass), sunface (true bypass), then clean boost - DOD bi-fet fx10 {NOT TRUE BYPASS}.

So the sunface probably doesn't want a buffered pedal in front of it, even though I want the boost as a single coil booster; not a boost for other boosts.

So even though I want the boost to be 'a part' of my guitar, it can't go in front of sunface.
