Ryan0594 June 27th, 2011, 04:37 PM Okay, so if you got a record deal tomorrow (or another hypothetical situation) and could buy whatever kit you want/need, what would you get?
Mine would look something like this.
Guitars:
- 2009 American Arctic White Fender Telecaster
- 1962 (reissue) Arctic White American Vintage Fender Jazzmaster
- Vintage Epiphone Casino (60s-era)
- Rickenbacker 330 Jetglo
Amps:
- Vox AC15
- Orange AC30
- Fender Twin Reverb (or maybe another amp of this style)
Effects:
- 2 x Pro RAT II (one for light and one for medium distortion)
- Chorus (undecided on make, maybe Danelectro)
- Delay (undecided on make, probably boss)
- Danelectro Reel Echo
- Compressor (MXR probably)
- Ibanez Tube Screamer
- Rotary Pedal (unsure on make/model)
- Amp foot switch (no idea on make)
- Holy Grail Reverb
- Boss TU-2 Tuner
Never realized how much gear I wanted til I made a list! I could still double it too if I tried. Remember though some pedals would be used in collaboration so ten pedals may only be used in four combinations.
So what's your dream set-up?

This way is all fits in my Ferrari Convertible....
Randypttt June 27th, 2011, 05:17 PM My dream would be to have new Am Standard Strat, Deluxe Reverb, and my Esquire. We could play anywhere.
jimmynumber9 June 27th, 2011, 05:27 PM Right now, I like to think I'm living my dream ...almost. I have a strat with fat 50s in it that I built myself, a vox ac30 a bluesbreaker, foxx tone machine, Hendrix Wah and a tuner.
The only thing's I'm still after are a good tele, a silverface bandmaster head and cab and a nova delay.
I like to try and buy my dream gear as it comes along. If I don't think I'll want something forever I try and not buy it. It's hard at times, but then I look at my bank account and get the boost I need to push through the GAS.
smsuryan June 27th, 2011, 05:39 PM if i could play the way i wanted, my gear now would be my dream equipment...:lol:
DOGMA Dunn June 27th, 2011, 10:51 PM I don't dream much if any about equipmnet. In fact I don't have dreams. But if I did, I would like original stuff from the early 60s to the mid 70s. Used or new it don't matter.
backalleyblues June 27th, 2011, 11:02 PM Hmmmm...
American Deluxe Telecaster... Gibson SG w-P-90s... ES-335... '61 Strat... a couple more Nationals...
I've already got a great amp that's my base sound (Super Reverb), so I'd want something different for recording, like a tweed Deluxe, a couple small Gibsons, maybe an 18 watt Marshall...
Pedals? Zendrive, Klon, Dr. Scientist Rad Red Reverb (or whatever it's called!), a good tape delay (doesn't have to be tape, just sound like it!) good swampy tremolo...
And money for a roadie!!!!
Franc Robert
beep.click June 27th, 2011, 11:11 PM I like what I have. If I were to add things:
Ric 325
Ric 381
Fender outboard reverb
Fender piggyback amp (e.g., Tremolux)
Leslie
And maybe a 335 with a Bigsby
backsideslappy June 27th, 2011, 11:40 PM Pair of hands that move the way my brain tells them to would get me a LONG way.
scantron81 June 28th, 2011, 12:18 AM Pretty much what I have going. My only desire would be some of those funky old Gibson Maestro drum machine sound units from the '60s or early '70s. Oh, and for my Bogen to stop breaking down.

flag72 June 28th, 2011, 09:23 AM this would be my set-up and it's simple
fender amp: twinn reverb>60's
fender guitar: 52 AV.not RI blonde
there you go this would make my day ;0)
jglenn June 28th, 2011, 09:37 AM To get started,a 60s Deluxe rev,60s es335,a 52 Tele,a 20 watt Marshall.
castpolymer June 28th, 2011, 10:13 AM Original Marshall Bluesbreaker combo and JTM 45 head with 4 x 12 cab. As far as guitars, I would pickup a Vox Teardrop 12 string, an original '72 Tele Deluxe and a high end acoustic ( whatever sounded good ).
dwmagpie June 28th, 2011, 02:29 PM AC30, original 50's Esquire with bigsby, big muff.
Urban June 28th, 2011, 02:57 PM I have my dream guitars (Telecaster and Gibson Firebird).
But my dream amps are Bluesbreaker and any Fender tweed. :)
dannew02 June 28th, 2011, 10:21 PM That's easy, this one right here http://cgi.ebay.com/2011-Gibson-non-reverse-Firebird-Custom-Shop-Ltd-New-/220804872730?pt=Guitar&hash=item3368fefa1a
I'd like one of the 2-humbucker ones from a few years ago but wouldn't kick any NR's out of bed.
Paul in Colorado June 29th, 2011, 01:39 AM A 4 x 12" cab for the Traynor Bassmaster and I'm good to go. I'm probably set for life to be honest, but I'll play the game.
A BF Twin Reverb with a Showman OT and a JBL D-130 speaker. A Dumble ODS 60 or a Fuchs or other D-Type amp voiced to my specs. A Fulltone Tube Tape Echo and a Metro JTM-45 clone with an original Marshall 4 x 12" cab.
For other guitars, either the '50's Strat I almost got back in the '70's or a Custom Shop clone made of real light swamp ash. An outstanding Historic '59 Les Paul and some kind of funky Supro for slide playing.
I'd be happy with the pedals I have, but put them in a rack drawer with a MIDI switching system that would also control which amp was being used.
I'll need an acoustic rig, too. Gibson J-200 with a good pickup system into a TC G-Natural preamp/effects unit.
All of this would be supplimented by gear I already have.
And most of all great songs and appreciative audiences where ever I go.

imsilly June 29th, 2011, 10:31 AM I feel lucky in that my GAS has reduced immensely because I have most of what I realistically want. Relics are fine, I ain't no hater.
