Its of general interest because it is an historical text that covers centuries of use of musical instruments, songs and so on. Similarly, classical European music of the church is of general interest to musicians in general.

Trying hard not to start a religious discussion here, but: historical text of any relevance? :shock:

Lets just say that it's great that you've found a resource that's relevant for you and maybe other christians as well, but please don't make a mistake of thinking that what the bible says about music (or anything, really) is relevant to everyone. After all for many it's just a book that others read. Sorry.

Likewise I don't think that classical church music is of any interest to the avarage blues guy, metalhead or rockabilly cat persé.

Those things are of interest to those interrested.

Well, I think the OP has all the right in posting resources that he thinks are relevant for him or others, but the moment he states it's relevant for all then it would be pretty naive not to expect any reactions, no?

As far as I'm concerned the discussion is not about religion here, merely about whether his statement is true, which, in essence, is a musical discussion :rolleyes:

Jvan is probably right.......it would be of no interest to anyone that couldn't read sheet music.
