That is a beauty, Rocki. I'm also curious to know how much she weighs. Others would probably like to have some specs on her as well.

There are other TDPRIers that have built or talked about building walnut Teles. Hopefully they'll chime in here.

I hope you don't mind, but I think it would be a helpful contribution to this thread to post your YouTube videos featuring your Logan Custom Walnut Tele.

This is one i made. Its actually made from 'Queensland walnut' not actually related to true walnut, just a name the colonists gave it when they came to australia due to the similar look.

Do you always hang your guitar bodies out with the laundry?

Seriously, though, whether a true walnut or not, that one's a looker.

Wow, some incredible instruments so far. I put together an ash tele with a walnut neck. This is my #1.

Since the walnut neck was much more expensive than the body I'm counting it as walnut. Hope no one minds

Now that's eye-catching!

More details, please. Is this your build? I can't quite tell from the pic, is that a maple fretboard? What about the centerpiece of that body? What pickups are those, and what switching configuration?

Mine has a walnut front - not sure what the rest is made of - bought the body on impulse from Evilbay - I finished it in Tru-Oil.

It's got a Japanese neck (from a '69 re-issue) and Seymour Duncan pickups (broadcaster style).

It was already routed for a modern style bridge and since this picture was taken, I have replaced the saddles with vintage Strat style ones and am a lot happier with it.

This is hanging in the shop waiting for the rain to stop long enough to start spraying clear. Walnut top, ash back, white binding, and I have a walnut/ebony neck ready for spray too.

It's a work in progress. Walnut fretboard. Will have a Walnut pickguard also.

Body is Spruce, but maybe it's close enough!

Thanks! Yeh it's a home build. Flame maple neck, flame maple fb, and a flame maple "stripe" down the front to cover up a knot hole.
The pickups are a SD JB/Jazz set with a mike Christian piezo bridge. Master vol. magnetic tone, piezo tone, one of the 3 ways is neck/both/bridge and the other is magnetics/both/piezo.

USACG body and neck, Bill and Becky Keystones.

More recently I put a Callaham bridge and Warmoth rosewood board neck on it, which seemed overall to be a better match:

Here is a walnut backed tele I built. It has a thin plywood top. One day I'll do a complete walnut guitar . I really love using it in my builds.

Huh?!? So did you edit them out? We've already had a Strat build posted here that wasn't even a walnut body; dbickford's spruce Strat body w/ a walnut neck and pickguard. Nobody complained about that one. I guess I don't see the harm.

This post should prob be over at the Tele Home Depot - But I found this thread after thinking about what to make a body blank from (was thinking reclaimed pine) and realizing I have been eating on a matched Tele & Strat pair for years.

This walnut table slab is at least 150 years old and both pieces are wide enough for a guitar. The slab is just over 3/4" thick.

[sorry for showing a strat in a Tele thread - it is a beater I keep out and it was handy for a quick pic]

So many projects in my head and so little time!

I see some pretty wood grains in that table top. I'd love to see a matched set (Tele & Strat) from that wood.

Just curious, though...is there a Mrs. Tommy B that might object to the dining table becoming a couple of guitars?
