1979 Hardtail Strat

I have a '79 hardtail strat that I just found out that the pickup assembely is not year correct so I was looking at hotrodding the pickups and was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions for a fat Texas sound.

Not cheap, but Bareknuckles makes some good-sounding fat single coil pickups. Look at their "Slowhand" and "Irish Tours" for starters.

With the right amp, plain ol' texas specials work wonders.
