Stew Mac Neck,vs Fender Warmoth

Is a Stew mac as good as a Fender/Warmoth. I notice they are cheaper and I know stew mac is a good Co.So how do there Neck rates

StewMac is a fine company and their necks are decent, but there's a reason they're cheaper — less attention to detail. USACG is worth a look if you want custom features and top workmanship.

I have 2 older SM Strat necks. They've been on the same guitars for about 10 years now. No issues at all. Of course, this doesn't speak to their current offerings, but you're right, StewMac is a good company and they have a no questions asked return policy on new, unused items.

I like Allparts necks ... And you don't have to reshape the headstock if you want the Fender shape. The TMO-fat is my favorite neck.

In my experience all of the aftermarket necks (especially mighty mite) will require some level of fret work. The exception was Carvin. I find it more rewarding and once you get past the initial learning curve not much slower to build your own necks.

I don't know about Stewmac's necks, I thought they were made by mighty mite. I have a few warmoth necks, going back 20 years or so. They're equal to if not better than fender's, minimal if any touchup is needed.

In the past they weren't. They were great quality way back when...but now not so much. Check the pictures...they are Mighty Might - the heel stamp is the giveaway. For $140 that's a rip off. You can find them on ebay for $90. You can also find on ebay Allparts necks for $119- $139. As others have commented, Allparts are great - I concur. I like my mighty might necks, but I wouldn't pay $140 for them, even my highly figured ones. In fact I only buy them if I find them under $80 for the plain figure and under $100 for figured - but usually that few and far between. I recommend if you are willing to spend $140, to buy Allparts. I believe there is a forum member (Kokotele) that sells them for about that price as well and gives a shipping hook-up. Check the vendor forum section.

If you don't mind doing a nut install and applying your own finish you can pick up your choice of about 40 different necks of all shapes/colors from warmoth for about $160. If you do you'll never look back, warmoth necks are amazing and most don't even need any fretwork upon arrival. Check em out

I just bought an Allparts TMNF-V neck (Telecaster-Maple-Nitro-Fat V). Unbelievably awesome neck. Feels like a baseball bat with a V contour. The only thing I had to do to it out of the box was sand the finish off the frets. Well, that, and make a nut for it, which I suck at. Going to have to buy another blank and try again, I guess.
