Seymour Duncan has is great bang-for-your-buck, IMO. A friend of mine swears by Lollars and another one by Don Mares. Also, I discovered Klein pickups and mine is the best pup I ever played. JM $.02 Good luck and have fun !

Wow, $150 per pickup will get you just about anything. For your application, I recommend getting something noiseless. Check out Kinman and Joe Barden. I highly recommend either.

The Kinman pickups sound and feel really authentic, whereas the Bardens are capable of the vintage sound but can also sound more modern depending on setup, your rig, and playing style.

I recommend avoiding the Fender noiseless pickups. They always sound lifeless to me.

+ 1 on SD Vintage 54s, very bright. If you were trying to stay budget, would say Fender Original Vintage set, or buy the bridge pup on ebay. Also, if you are in a Rock/Alternative setting then maybe something "Hot", if you are playing with overdrive frequently. Check out Seymour Duncan.

By now everyone knows that I love Lawrence pups, regardless of price. For that much money, you could get a set of Keystones, and a set of noiseless!

Howdy,

For traditional Tele tone, my runaway favorite reamins DiMarzio's affordable Twang Kings. I've been enjoying them now for seven years. It's seemingly impossible to get a bad sound out of them.

I like Rio Grande's, but tend to agree that for church playing, I would go noiseless.
