Okay, this question falls in the "who cares" category but I was sitting around work talking with two friends of mine and we were discussing how many pieces of wood Fender uses to assemble a stock MIA Tele body (MIA standard -- regular alder) -- and wondering if there really is a standard number afterall.
I've searched the forums and had no luck, tho I could have sworn I've seen this topic before. We're thinking that Fender has no standard -- and just use whatever they have laying around to assemble a body. My two buds say their MIA's are three piece. Mine is definitely four. I've heard people claim their stock alder MIA had only two. Fender website says nothing. So we're thinking that there really is no standard number of planks used by the Fender plant -- whatever works is what gets done. Anyone know if this correct?
