SCNs vs Lollar

So, I've tried this topic over in TGP, but I figure if it's a Tele question, I might as well sign up and ask it here.

So I have a 2008 American Deluxe Tele with SCN pickups. I like the pickups, they're just lacking a bit of clarity. I do like how they're so hot (but not TOO hot). How hot do I have to get with Alnico 5 pickups to get to that output? I know SCNs say they have a DC resistance of 13.8K. If I got a set of Lollar Special T's (which are Flat Pole A5 8K), would that be less output? An if i got a set of Don Mares' Flat Pole Alnico 5 and had him wind it at 8K, that'd be comparable to the Special T's, correct? Thanks, guys!

SCN's were designed as a smooth sounding PUP. It's not clarity, but an exaggerated resonant peak, they lack. SCN's were designed by Bill Lawrence of Wilde, the first of this site's listed supporting vendors. His designs utilize special methods which eliminate internal phase-canceling, producing a stronger fundamental and clearer harmonics throughout the frequency spectrum. I never thought about it like that. No exaggerated resonant peak. Hmmm.....kinda cool. I mean, the pickups are def not for me, but good to know. Thanks, man!
