I got the Mustang V head tonight!

It survived UPS in the Fender Mustang box -- 3-days early (2-day shipping from NJ to CA via UPS Ground )!

As soon as I pay off the head, I'm getting the cabinet.

So, for now, it's being played via a laptop, headphones, and monitors!

It's quite nice out of the box. It has the USB cable, the cab cables, and a footswitch. The disc came with the latest ASIO driver. The Fuse software was a breeze to download and install.

I've used a bunch of computer based amp/effect sims and digital multi-effects interfaces, so the Fuse interface was easy for me.

Fuse is limited as compared to Waves GTR3 and the Digitech RP 1000, but the Fuse sound quality is far superior, far superior, amazingly superior.

Finally, a sold state modeler that works!

And, $300.00??? Thank you Fender. No, seriously -- THANK YOU!!!

Hopefully it's built as good as it sounds! We'll see!

I have one too and unfortunately it's suffering from this:Obnoxius tail end distortion (http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=49789&sid=73e815f9828dbdd68befe737dce3e801)

Yes, this one had the same issue too until I did the firmware update.

The patch change times were slower before the firmware update too.

The update addresses the problems with improved performance, but the issues are not fully resolved.

I've been reading through the Fender forums. It's an evolving technology.

Regardless, this is the best *amp* modeler I've tried thus far.

It is limited in its palette of effects, but there's a stereo effects loop on the V, so now, I can hook-up my favorite multi-effects box (zoom g9.2tt)to my favorite amp modeler! This should be a match made in Heaven or...not. We'll see!

Yeah, the M5 IS a nice amp and I have used it successfully in rock band rehearsals and at two gigs already.
Unfortunately the firmware update didn't fix the fizz problem on my amp. Fender has not commented the issue yet, but they seem to be dedicated to solve it properly. I find the prob irritating only sometimes when I play cleanish sounds or roll back the volume on guitar. Hmm.. quite often actually!
For its low price it's a good deal, it didn't blow my mind by sound quality but I kind of like it anyway! :)

I bought the Mustang V and the cab for myself for Christmas. I have it in my house and I haven't dared roll the master volume past 3 yet for fear of raising the ire or my neighbors. I've only plugged my Tele I to it so far, and I've sampled the presets. Most of them sound great, although a few have a buzz that is annoying. I'm looking forward to learning more about this amp. I also have an Orange crush combo amp that has some built in effects, but this one has so much more!
