I find it interesting that the Bible mentions so little about Worship Music. I think God is always one step ahead of us. I'm also pretty sure God has a sense of humour and enjoys watching us at our best and worst. (Maybe not our worst?!)
We have missionaries dying and suffering all over the world trying to get the Word out - Yet modern christianity (or any religion with musicians) seems to have never ending issues about music appreciation. Churches split over music, 1000's of musicians pack up their toys and storm out of buildings for the sake of ego and art. (as well as self preservation).
Ain't music fun?
After playing church music for over 20 years I've gone full circle with understanding its importance. I've achieved my goals/then realized my goals were very selfish. Basically telling God how to do his ministry best.
Lately i've seen churches with the worst out of tune musical amateurs (and soundmen) lead a church of a 1000 into wonderful worship - and i've watched over proficient musicians with way too much gear and talent (with glorious soundmen) lead a congregation of 100's into boredom and Biblical illiteracy. I think for the same reason God didn't tell us what colour eyes Jesus has - He also didn't tell us how to do our worship exactly...because we probably couldn't handle it.
Now I do my best and sit back and laugh with wonder at God's people.
