tuuur May 7th, 2011, 02:56 PM One of the more prolific guitar brands of the sixties and early seventies, EKO had some pretty affordable models that are still available for not that much money.
I guess there have to be more than a few members here with EKO's; why not show them off here?
I'll start with this EKO Ranger 6 which I bought today for a mere 30 euros. It's not entirely pristine, but it plays great!

tuuur May 10th, 2011, 08:26 AM Not pristine? No, it's got buckle rash on the back...

JRSIV September 17th, 2011, 06:01 PM Here's my late '60's Eko Barracuda Bass. I know, it's a bass. But it's a wonderful example of Eko guitar goodness.
ES style body, short scale Hofner-ish neck and punchy & warm pickups...all made in Italy.
I had the six string version of the Barracuda in a red/black burst, a cool ES style guitar that I stupidly sold.
Sent from my HTC Glacier/myTouch4G using the TDPRI Android App.

FraKo September 29th, 2011, 08:21 AM To broke an Eko Ranger isn't that easy... I guess they used some TNT
I've been the proud owner of the same guitar since 1981 (yes, exactly 30 years, cheers), the Ranger 6/EL (with a single coil pick up in the hole close to the neck). Pretty sturdy guitar, I though it was undestructible before I saw your picks. Mine is still brand new. Unfortunately te neck was never comfortable to my small and tiny hands.
After three decades, I'd say that's a keeper , anyway
spotface September 29th, 2011, 10:44 AM I've still got an Eko violin body bass I got in 1965 or 6. Lost the pickguard along the way but it still is in one piece. It was re-strung in the 90's for the guitar-less lefty bass player in my Alt-country trio. Still stittin' in the closet 'cause my P-Bass sounds soo dang good and I'm too lazy to put it back to righty and sell it.
Slowpoke September 15th, 2012, 09:51 AM My Eko Ranger 6 was made in the 1970's I believe. I bought it in the UK in 1975 and it was 2nd hand then. I love the guitar and use it on a daily basis when learning new songs. Its the only guitar I've got that has a Zero Fret and it stays perfectly in tune all the way up the neck. I use Elixir 10 to 47 acoustic strings. Unfortunately my spare pick is stuck over the Eko name on the headstock. Its my "take anywhere" guitar......
gypsymoth September 15th, 2012, 11:13 AM my first guitar was a silver sparkle Eko with push button and wheel controls.
a little brother smashed it in his punk era, and it vanished until recently when the body was discovered under a bunch of stuff at my parents home.
so I guess I still have half of my first guitar, I just need to make a trip to pick it up.
edit - here's a complete one on ebay

DOC DYA January 22nd, 2013, 07:08 AM The first electric guitar I bought was an EKO X27 (1969?), and sold it a few years later for a Höfner 175 (German Telecaster...)!... and a few others after that!!!

Here is my 1970 Ranger 12. It was the first new guitar I bought in the UK in 1970. It still sounds great, big booming chords. It's currently tuned in open C, because I like to play "Question" by The Moody Blues amongst other tunes!
Stewie 53 March 9th, 2013, 01:56 AM I like that EKO Cobra!
