I'm fixing to build a walnut tele and I'm looking for a source for a book matched top.
I don't have a good bandsaw to do my own because it doesn't cut things that wide very well.. Does anyone where I can find such an item?
I'm also wondering if walnut is OK for a neck.
Thanks for any info.

Oregon Wild Woods stock some b-e-a-utiful Walnut caps, and have pictures of all of the sets they're selling.
Make sure to look at them close up as they can have knots and other defects in them. They show the sanded bookmatched side in the pictures though, so any defects are usually pretty obvious.
Walnut is fine for necks - looks fantastic and carves nicely, and is great either grain filled or open grain finished. I used it for a 12 string acoustic, with a truss rod and 2 carbon fibre rods from stewmac to be safe. Hasn't moved in 2 years under full tension.
Hope that helps. Good luck and show us how you get on

Here's another possible source, although they're only listing one walnut top set now:

Here's what I did with one of their ready-to-glue sets:

Walnut is an awesome choice for both neck and body. I am building a walnut Tele for the build thread.
