Sandbagged in Oregon

So I new this place existed for years, but was never a tele-first kinda player. Then, while trying to locate old internet friends (are you reading this Platefire?) I decided to join up.

I have one (count'em) ONE Tele...a little black MIM I picked up at a garage sale for 100 bucks....It's on the bench waiting for an old school Wilkenson ashcan and yet-another pickup change (currently has a SD Quarterpounder in the bridge, but I want more vintage quack and twang). There are a few other guitars laying around the place. I've been posting a few in appropriate threads in the "Other guitars" sub-forum...I'm not trying to brag about having lots of necks; I just like guitars and the different sounds I can wring from them.

Here are a few of my favorite non-Tele, tele-killers:

Maybe it's the color of this Teisco, or the funky little single coils, but can always get a twang outta this old thing....setup really nice and has a good balance/weight design. Very comfortable to play.

Many people think of tele's or strat's as a great spaghettiwestern guitar, but this old Alamo has both beat...plus it weighs in at about 3 lbs

I USED to own this Deluxe....the former owner put in Ibanez Super 70's...no better way to kill the Tele sound, imo. SOLD: now in Britain, iirc.

Another "Used to own". St Blues....not bad, but not me.

The Ovation Viper is, imho, one of the best Tele-kllers out there. Real twang, a great neck, extremely comfortable, proper scale...just a fantastic guitar and I highly recommend them.

And this is not a tele-killer, but it is my favorite guitar....a '77 Ehlers Jumbo, from bitd when Rob was really putting some handmade quality in each guitar.

You can see the Tele-influence in this slider I made...the ashcan is a great palm-rest.

Does the headstock in the first pic serve double duty as a can opener?

I find it's superior attribute is that of a plow,
followed closely by "seam-ripper for circus tents".
