flyingbanana March 31st, 2011, 04:15 PM Here are a few pics. Not a great photographer, but wanted to share the joy of my first Gibson...and I must say that it's definitely got that Gibson bark to it! I like these Burstbucker Pro pickups even more than the older models they used to put in these.
Jakedog March 31st, 2011, 04:34 PM Nice! Looks pretty much just like mine! Hope you enjoy it, and yeah, those BB Pros are really sweet. I love mine to pieces.

Congrats ... some people slag off Gibson these days but all their US line beat US PRS for tone IMO
Is that an ebony board? Saw a white studio with ebony board, felt like a custom, though for a lot less.
superbadj March 31st, 2011, 04:58 PM No. Most come with rosewood, but white LPs always have Ebony boards.
hekawi March 31st, 2011, 05:34 PM excellent. looks like it could be related to mine. love my Studio, and i know you're gonna be happy with yours too
VincentBaker March 31st, 2011, 06:19 PM Nice LP! The stars and stripes really make it jump out of the pic ;-)
tooncaster March 31st, 2011, 06:34 PM Excellent choice. I see these in the GC and every time I have to restrain myself from getting one. They are very nice.
Telarkaster March 31st, 2011, 06:36 PM Congratulations! I've been gassing for one of these for years.
studio1087 March 31st, 2011, 11:12 PM Congratulations.
Looks very nice. The pickups are really responsive aren't they??
The photos look very nice.

Thanks John...and to you others who left a comment. This guitar ends my search for that elusive perfect.....ehhh who am I kidding....haha.
It really is just about perfect for me. It's got a good sustain, and yes John, the pickups are very responsive. I actually need to play with a lighter touch on the Gibson than with my strats. I love it. And for the price, this guitar couldn't be beat.
stantheman April 1st, 2011, 10:38 AM I love the look of Studios - all business.
I've had lust in my heart for an Alpine White Studio with Gold Hardware and the Ebony Fretboard forever - even more than a "Custom."

I had an '89 exactly like this for years. Light as a feather, sounded fabulous. Only mod I ever did to it was removing cover from the bridge pickup. Opened the tone up nicely. It was probably the most "vocal" guitar I ever had.
I stupidly let it go in exchange for a pair of PA speakers. I needed the speakers badly, but I have always regretted letting that Paul go. Out of all of the more than 300 guitars I've traded bought and sold over the years, it's one of only two or three I really miss and regret losing.
By the time I got rid of it, it was a deep shade of nicotine yellow, didn't have much gold left on the gold hardware, and was missing about 20% of it's paint. It was GORGEOUS.
e-merlin April 1st, 2011, 11:53 AM That's a really nice looking guitar!

I cringed when I read that you traded a Gibson for mere speakers...:razz:, but hope they were worth it.
Thanks merlin. Just did a full setup, polished the frets, dressed up the fret ends a bit new strings, sound awesome!
C1993 April 3rd, 2011, 05:30 PM I have a VM that looks just like that. Love the Burstbuckers. It's a total rock machine. Congrats!
