cjburr March 29th, 2011, 01:36 AM I see the I, II, and III have theirs so here is ours. Unfortunately for me my IV arrived the day before I had to return to Afghanistan. Thought I'd put this here to gather tips, tricks, patches, set-ups and what-not that I can use when I return from the sandbox. Here's a few pics I was able to get before I left to satisfy the "pics or it didn't happen" police:lol:

Barely had time to play around with them but eagerly anticipate my homecoming!!
cjburr June 21st, 2011, 06:49 PM Wow!! this is pretty cool, I'm the only guy who has one of these, sweet!! I guess I'll look for patches and tricks and tips in the Mustang III thread use them on my IV when I get to see it again
Seems from the Fender forum the IV doesn't suffer from the "tail end distortion" problem as much as the III and not all the III's have it either. Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones.
Played around with the Fuse program enough to be able to use it upon my return. Looking forward to using a "clean" setting and running my GuitarRig4 through this amp as well, that will give me so many options I'll never run out of sounds with this rig
nalod July 20th, 2011, 07:57 PM I just bought one on Sunday 7/17. The 2x12 is a nice sound. I had a III, sold it and bought a Blues Jr. Nice amp, but, it cannot compare to the 2x12. I'm stiil trying, after all thse years, to find something that will cause me to fall in love with my Strat. I'm beginning to think another Tele is in order.
Stay safe CJ...
cvsoundz July 21st, 2011, 10:06 PM I'm on the edge of taking the jump myself. I played one at the Music Shop today and was really impressed with the versatility of this amp. No doubt a Fender tube has more balls but dang.... got me thinkin I may need one of these. I went in to buy a HRDIII.... I have a Twin. Twin is getting too heavy for me to drag around and I've had it forever and will probably keep it forever. The 1/12 in the HRDIII is just about right and I love the tone. They are comparable in weight as far as draggin around. I'm having a tough time with this one. And definitley stay safe.
banjocaster July 26th, 2011, 05:40 PM Hey CV.
How do the clean settings on the mustang IV compare to your Twin? I know the tube amp will have more "balls" as you say, but can you elaborate? How about sheer volume and likeness of the tone to the twin? A Twin would be my dream amp, but I am concerned about the weight, and the damage to my wallet. Not to mention my marriage
songsmith1950 July 31st, 2011, 03:41 PM Hi CV. First off thank you for your service to our country in a place nobody would likely pick for a vacation or honeymoon. Without those such as you we would not be where we are. . Thank you.
I have a Mustang III and love it dearly. It has models that are so real I can't believe it most of the time. I run through them, comparing them to the real amps, which I have owned most of, and it really is nice.
When I pull up the 59 Bassman and play it side by side with my 59 BRI I am amazed. I also wonder what I might get for my RI.
I am keeping my blackface Deluxe though I have to say it is also close enough where in a band setup most would never even guess it is a model.
If you have any problems with your Mustang perhaps I could help. Or if you want a pen pal perhaps I could be that as well. My wife and I like to show our appreciation to GI's.
Thanks again
Tom
candybluecrook September 17th, 2011, 12:05 PM Well I just got my mustang iv yesterday, love it. I'm getting amp poor though. Nashville 1000 by peavy, fender super reverb 1963 bf moded with reverb in both channels and a lancing d130. And now this amp. But I love the tone of this amp, and settings from the factory sound great out of the box.

GrantR September 24th, 2011, 08:46 AM Hi guys,
I am not a Mustang owner yet, but am pretty keen on getting one.
Today I have been playing through a Mustang ll, and was very impressed.
However, from playing that amp, I have to wonder how much better are the lll and lV models ?
Can anyone advise on the advantages sound wise or other, for the lV over the lll ? Obviously there is probably a fuller sound that you get from having two 12" speakers, but not having much experience with these amps, I figured you guys are the best people to advise on the lV (and hopefully on the lll).
Thanks for any advice.
Grant.
Jagtec March 10th, 2012, 11:42 PM I scored a deal on CL for my Mustang IV. I have had it about a month or so. The more I play on it and tweak it, the more I like it ! I play it in church next to a guy that has a Line 6 2x10 amp,,, BLOWS it away. I also own a vintage Fender Bandmaster amp. I will say this, compared to a real tube amp it is very close in tone. I will go a step further and say that most people will not be able to tell the difference. This amp has everything any weekend warrior, semi pro player or just hobbyist picker could ever want and some things that I can't ever see using,,,IE "reverse ducking delay" what is that ? I love the clean factory tones although most have a little too much reverb for my liking.
Our main guitar man plays through a Cyber Twin. IMO it rivals his sounds very nicely. My only complaint is that when you switch it off and turn it back on it goes right the first setting, not the last one you were using. (not a big problem but a little irratating)
I have not played the Mustang 1 2 or 3 models but I know that the IV and V models both are rated at 150 watts in stereo. The stereo tape delays sound fantastic. I also like that they give you every amp model in its "clean" setting with no effect so you can really hear the distinct differences between them. All in all I am VERY SATISFIED with this amp,,, but you have got to get into it and tweak it for your own taste.

Now I am an owner of a Mustang IV, I can totally agree with you.
I have played through lots of valve amps, and have particularly enjoyed playing through Various Fender amps in the past. I think the M IV is so close to tube sound and feel, that it is very hard to tell this amp from a Fender twin or 59 Bassman, etc.
The effects are very good, and I have owned or still own many really good quality stand alone effects, but don't tend to use them anymore.
I think that the Mustang IV is the "best bang for your buck" around, given the quality of the sounds, and all the available options.
Jagtec March 15th, 2012, 12:11 AM I agree,,, I don't use any of my effects pedals anymore. This amp has it all.
Jagtec March 15th, 2012, 11:49 PM "Tail end distortion" ?? can anyone explain that ? I don't know if I have that concern.
LawDaddy March 16th, 2012, 12:38 AM The place were I rehearse has one of the IV's, I dig the Bassman channel. Reacts very well with the guitar's volume knob and sits in the mix real nice. Turn off the default wet reverb/echo settings and it's good to go.
kelnet March 17th, 2012, 03:53 AM Seems from the Fender forum the IV doesn't suffer from the "tail end distortion" problem as much as the III and not all the III's have it either. Hopefully I'll be one of the lucky ones.

It seems that you're having some trouble with the quote function on the site.

I've gone in circles since this last post. I ended up buying the Mustang IV and turned around and sold it and bought a HRD III. Bang for the buck, Mustang is a great value and an exceptional sound. Sound VS sound, for me the HRD III. I have tried every combo of effects processors built in and stand alone and I'm playing through the HRD III with Boss pedals. As of late I'm actually playing through my pedals directly to the board and through a QSC PA and I'm not carrying an amp anymore with my 3 piece band. Just a matter of personal preference, Mustang had too many options for me and I just don't need that many sounds. Compared to the Twin...... The Twin is by far much richer. Still, bang for buck.... Mustang. Volume.... Both are louder than most of us will ever play. I would actually rather have the HRD III than the Twin for the money.
