Full size humbucker in a 52 hot rod

Can a 52 hot rod (with a new pickguard) accommodate a full size humbucker or do you have to make the hole bigger on the body?

The neck pickup body rout is specifically for a mini humbucker. It will not accomodate a full size humbucker.

The rout dimensions are. 84mm L x 30mm W x !8mm D.

Am I correct in assuming changing the neck pickup (that's like a Firebird?) to an Epiphone/Gibson style mini (with polepieces visible, like GFS fat mini) would make for a more regular humbucker tone?

Anyone know the answer to Weelie's question? Inquiring minds want to know!
