yarddog1959 February 26th, 2011, 01:59 AM I saw a few ?'s that asked if anybody had bought one. I did. DONT DO IT. Save your money. Mine came incomplete, but it did come complete with dents in the finish and on the neck, and a input jack the wouldn't hold a cord and a sixth string drop d tuner that won't work because it was never installed,or sent with the guitar.Bottom line it was waste of money and lots of time.
vintageNut February 26th, 2011, 02:21 AM ouch:sad:.. Thanks for the tip. I have been in the market for a bender just cant make up my mind which one.
so many choices.......
BWNadeau February 26th, 2011, 11:34 AM Thanks for the heads-up - could have saved some guys a lot of head-ache. Sorry about the bad luck on your end though.

I am still waiting for mine since Dec 15th, He promised it was being shipped out
last tuesday, and still nothing. There is something very wrong here. He sends
lots of excuses, and reasons why it is late, but now is time to call a halt and go for my money back.Sad to be ripped off in this way.

lmcgillet March 6th, 2011, 05:48 PM Hello yarddog1959 and Robang!
Sorry to read about your troubles wit Gregory White. See I am not his personal "Robin Hood" and we are not relatives or companions, but I bought this guitar recently at an ok price. It has an exceptional body finish and sounds beautiful:
http://img19.imagevenue.com/loc139/th_449537105_newg6_122_139lo.jpg (http://img19.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=449537105_newg6_122_139lo.jpg) http://img133.imagevenue.com/loc164/th_449538482_newg12_122_164lo.jpg (http://img133.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=449538482_newg12_122_164lo.jpg)
Anyway: The roller "tower" and the roller bridge don't seem to "roll", but I noticed small pieces of packaging cloth in the mechanism. Hadn't the time yet to clean it up, but the bender works and tunes exactly nonetheless (maybe thanks to Nut Sauce).
Communication with Gregory was smooth and friendly, he was patient and helpful with some difficulties eBay and PayPal caused because of "free shipping" to Europe. The guitar arrived alive and well, and in time.
Robang, hope you will get yours soon and also hope it will be a nice guitar.
BTW: Forrest Lee Jr's benders are terrific. Had the luck to get hold of one of his guitars second hand here in Germany. Also have some of his instructional Cds. It always has been a joy to deal wth Forrest and I totally agree with HOBBSTER01's statement.
Good luck and Greetings!

BWNadeau March 6th, 2011, 10:00 PM I agree with the assessment on Forrest Lee - very cool guy, pleasure to deal with, and I have every intention of having him build a guitar for me soon.

Hi Luther, yes I watched that guitar with interest, even swapped e-mails with him, but when it comes to my guitar? all I get is it is ready to ship, and then nothing? I paid him on Dec 15th last year for a cream/maple neck guitar, he said he had to wait for a pearl p/guard for 2 weeks ( his e-bay f/back showed he bought a couple next day and then sold a green guitar with one fitted) then he was snowed in, then he had posted it, it never came and he LOST?? the postage inf. so he was sending me a replacement guitar, this has now rumbled on for three months, with various excuses from him, inc.divorce, death of father,re-clocation, and alway's it's ready to ship. Well now I am sick to death of the whole thing,I sold my Fender anniversary bender due to the weight causing my arm to go numb(neck injury) I have some light tele's in stock and I just might build my own bender. These China' built guitars are Amazing' for the price, £120 and sounding 50's out of the box.
lmcgillet March 8th, 2011, 02:05 PM Hi Robang!
What is happening to you is not good. Especially I don't really like the "Mystery of the pearl pickguard".
Although Gregory is nearly perfect at feedback on the 'bay, there seems to be someting wrong with your trade. I am quite happy with my "Gregory", but would be a lot happier reading about your trade being completed to your satisfaction, including quality of the guitar.
Building one's own bender is a challenge... With a left foot instead of a right hand regarding workmanship (am talking about ME, not you!) my choice would be a Forrest Lee installation of a bender in my dedicated guitar. They match the PW, maybe not in cult (yet?), but in quality - just my $$ 0,02. And they are light. But I understand shipping costs and risks are an issue, as you are in the U.K.
Take care and best wishes!
Luther
Robang March 8th, 2011, 05:09 PM Thanks again my friend, as a dealer myself (small way) I stand by my reputation and would never cheat a customer, I have had comms with some of the f/back writers on his e-bay list and at least two have not had the goods they are supposed to have left glowing reports of. So I also wonder. He has not responded to my last two e-mails since he promised to ship my guitar next day and did not do so 8 days ago.
lmcgillet March 8th, 2011, 06:05 PM Hi again, Robang!
BTW: Had sent an "everything is alright"-eMail to Gregory on 2011.02.22 when the guitar had arrived and I had picked it up at my local custom's office. Never got an answer, although he always seemed to be more than interested in the satisfactory finishing of our trade.
Maybe he really has serious family trouble or even lost a beloved one, just to guess the situation.
Anyway, regarding the feedbacks at the 'bay. Were there issues with the gutars? (please only answer if you like to, I feel I am very indiscrete)
My personal eMail: ralfneitzel@t-online.de
Thank you and best wishes!
Luther
P.S.: Just mailed Gregory and told him about this thread (another indiscretion against TDPRI? Hope not, otherwise I am sorry but hope to help to clear things up). Am sure Gregory will reply soon.
Robang March 12th, 2011, 05:22 AM Today is Sat 12th of March 2011, Greg promised to send my guitar on the 28th of Feb. Since then I have heard Zero' from him despite three separate e-mails asking for info.
I have collected a file of e-mails since Dec-2010 which I may put into a book called -
Promises are empty boxes if you don't fill them. Sadder but wiser, I remain convinced that there are some good guys over there, like Chris Hernandez who makes the best custom-p/ups going, check him out or mail him at chris.hernandez@yahoo.com. I have used his vintage' strat sets in my last three custom builds to rave-reviews from the owners, he is also doing some
gr8 tele' models now , you ask for what you want, he makes it for you only better.
Robang March 15th, 2011, 09:57 AM Ooops, chris's e-mail should read chrisdher@yahoo.com, sorry but he makes exceedingly good p/ups.
Robang March 22nd, 2011, 05:09 PM Well march 22 and yet another unanswered e-mail to Greg-white, he is actively selling on e-bay on a daily basis as his f/back shows, but will not answer any of my mails. I lost my gig as I did not have the light weight bender he promised me, so it went to another player
with a fender model, so now I have no guitar and no band job, wish I had never contacted this clown, Please beware , he can screw you upPay him at your peril.
chrisdher March 30th, 2011, 06:33 PM Rob, thanks for the leg up! sorry to hear about the gig. If there's a special place in hell for him, I hope it's forever on a stage playing a shoddy bender for "New Kids on the Block"....Got some Broadcaster repro's on ebay right now if anyone has any interest. chrisher! is my ebay name. Thanks again and hope things turn out right for you. chris
lmcgillet April 1st, 2011, 09:50 PM Hello again, Robang!
Long time tried to hang on to my belief Gregory White's business suffered because of personal issues or so. Meanwhile - regarding your experiences - I agree he seems to be a no-go feller.
Anyway - good luck and hope you will get your guitar finally.
Take Care -
Luther
Robang April 3rd, 2011, 07:22 PM Hi Luther , I have been contacted by a chap who sent Greg a body to install a bender
now he cannot get any reply to e-mails either. He is trading on E-bay on a daily basis
so there is no excuse for him to ignore us, we paid him up-front and this is how we get treated. I was willing to give him benefit of doubt, due to tales of woe, but the way he has acted is criminal, lucky for me my credit card people are acting to recover my money
I wish it had not been otherwise but sadly he has destroyed my trust in dealing with people I do not know and who make claims like he does-Worlds-best-bender ? worlds rip-off king more like.
lmcgillet April 4th, 2011, 02:35 AM Hi Robang!
Sorry things didn't clear up finally for you, which I kept hoping all the time. Still I have traded with Greg two times in the last years, and things went smooth and satisfying...
Can't understand how your's all and my experiences match. :(
Still best wishes and Greetings -

Chuck Lawson May 18th, 2011, 08:47 PM Hi I bought one from him over two years ago. When it arrived the bender woudn't work, so I shipped it back to him to get repaired . He woudn't accept the guitar back. After many phone calls and emails He did ok for me to send back.I waited for a long time and never got the guitar back. They woudn't answer the emails or phone calls. About four months ago I was looking on Eaby and there was my guitar up for sale from Gregory. I finaly got through to them and they told me that their dad Mr Gregory had died, They said the guitar that was for sale on the Ebay was not my guitar but I know it was.The daughter said they would make me a new guitar but that apparently is not going to happen.I do have all of the reciepts and shipping details . I have been trying to get my money back but so far nothing. I may have to get a lawyer but they cost so much, but I may do it anyway. Chuck
asatfan May 19th, 2011, 08:33 AM That's a sad story, Chuck. It's too bad that there has to be people like this. You should have been bending for the last two years....not chasing somebody for your money back. I hope it works out for you one of these days. Best of luck!

lmcgillet November 4th, 2011, 04:39 PM Seems I have been very lucky - and lonesome - with Gregory's business...
Anyway, deals with Forrest jr. have always been perfect. I own a B-Bender guitar he made which I bought from a 3rd party, and it's one of my favourites. Forrest's work and business are beyond any doubt - perfect and gentle.

Looks interesting but the finish is a little much. His feedback rating isn't too bad. In the last year, 338 positive and 4 negative, 3 of which were small parts.
braderrick December 16th, 2011, 12:34 AM Uh....? No thanks, did you read the rest of this thread? I live not too far from their area and if I were to even consider one of their guitars I would definately have to physically drive there and see it... ya know to avoid having to physically drive there and see them after the fact! I don't know who G. E. Morton or White & Thomley are, but that guitar looks pretty nice. I would like to know more about the bender.
Randyrocker February 2nd, 2012, 10:23 PM I just talked to Greg today It seems that their is the major consensus on this thread not to deal with Greg but his Ebay feedback is impeccable? Seems like we have what 7 or 8 people with bad experiences but all that feedback on Ebay is impeccable.
I know this when I talked to Greg today on the phone he called me 20 minutes after I asked him about building a guitar for me in an email. we talked for way over and hour. He is the only person accept for the original owners of Hamer in the Real made in USA Hamer days that took the time to explain every single thing why when where what.. I could go on and on but haha if Greg is such a "Bad Egg" Why is it that he spent so much time with me? Makes no logical sense there is a breakdown in communication somewhere. Bottom line for me the Ebay feedback is impossible to forge.. His communication with me was beyond impeccable. So wheres the issue is beyond me... But for now I will continue to purchase a guitar from Greg he won my confidence and I am sorry for those of you that has these bad experiences. Now given that if I do indeed run into an issue I will surely post an update...
Godspeed

So I respect that If you were me and were looking for a B -Bender that is not a hipshot Saw looking torture device and really do not want a 9.3+ LB guitar with a Parons whatever in it.. What would you do? Where do I look I have yet to find an abundance of B - Benders readily available accept for the Nashville B -Bender that is just heavy as hell.. you got me help me help you help me understand where to go for a quality B -Bender?

OK I figured this out now... These complaints of two years hahaha of trying to get his guitar from Greg White haha WTF you just report to your credit card company get your money back simple.. nice thing about credit cards.. If you didn't use one then you are insane and also hahah I just noticed something every complaint accept for 1 is people with 2 and 3 posts.... OK this is just great this is a common practice by someone with an agenda. On another note I took a look at Forrest Lee Jr guitars he is a great player and I love his music. After looking at his guitar's they are pushing the paisley 2499.99 and doesn't even have a neck that can be adjusted for tilt and using a cheap Wilkinson bridge. Also Brad Paisley isn't even a customer of Forrest's guitars yeah so more Red Flags so many people fall for the Paisley design whatever. So we are falling into the common sickness much like buying a Suhr guitar for what 4,000 dollars the higher the price the better right? So comparing let say that Gold top on ebay of Greg Whites and one of Forrest's guitars is simple Greg White is offering a better guitar for less money... But he does not have a paisley design ohh brother why am I wasting my time I surely will not on this thread ever again..
Ha and the last comment is like a one line comment. hahah " a Fool and his money what???" and then I look at the signature .. "If you can play all you need is a Peavy Bandit" hahaha ohh ok... Now I am really Impressed with that... haha I'm scared... I had a Peavy Bandit like 20 years ago and Ohh I surely could play with it but I don' want to and wouldn't so that makes no sense at all... So trying to get a quality answer here and watching this thread now I realize is an exercise in insanity.. Much like everyone pushing a freaking Hipshot as my solution for a B -Bender ohhh k you guys go put that thing on...Go spend 3000.00 for the baseline Suhr tele make freaking sense someone out there!!!..
motwang February 3rd, 2012, 03:02 AM :lol:Hey I got some ocean front property in Arizona I'll sell REEAALL CHEEAP!!!!!!! Oh and Paisley guitars were around before Brad Paisley! Do some more research on your topic before you rant. The Peavey Bandit thing is meant to say that you don't need fancy gear (although some is nice) to sound good. It's technique and ..... well I guess I'll just say "Tone is in the hands". Good luck finding a cheap bender. (hahaha).:mrgreen::rolleyes:

Yes I am surely aware of what the intent was its a given.. Haha I just decided to make as much sense as every post on here..Just because I do not have 3000 posts doesn't mean that I am new to forum's. No I do not have 3000 posts and never will. I make my own conclusions I haven't gotten a correct or even a option answer yet.. I understand your point on the paisley it sure was a lame comparison yes I know the history of the guitar still Brad P is associated with the design doesn't matter anymore what the origins are. Someone see's one and automatically thinks "Brad Paisely"
yes please do page whoever necessary here on telecaster.com in fact have them remove this whole thread if possible so nobody else with any sense has to see this crud.. Its all ridiculous including my own RANTS!!!!! GRRRRR.
HOBBSTER01 February 3rd, 2012, 01:53 PM I don't know who G. E. Morton or White & Thomley are, but that guitar looks pretty nice. I would like to know more about the bender.
White is Greg.
Thomley is Brent, his father-in-law.
BTW. These benders are great if you keep a screwdriver in your rear pocket when you play.
I played one a year or so back and kept having to tune after each song.
I was sittin' in with a couple guys who are pro players and one had bought this particular guitar used.
So I really can't speak to the functionality of a new one.
All I know is I have a Forrest Lee bender and have probably played 100 plus shows with it and never an issue except for my playing.
The guy who owns it was and still may be pickin for Johnny Rodriguez.

Thank you that makes sense I would agree I am very concerned with Greg White's Bender design I am in communication with Forrest Lee Jr at the moment and if the price is right I am just going to go with Forrest due to one issue.. If Greg White's Bender is as good as he claims then why the heck is it not available anywhere! accept for him ... makes no sense and if I research a new technology and see no findings on it that in itself has me worried even more.. Now that you said their are tuning issue's that is a huge Red Flag since it is not a proven design and nobody I have seen has taken one apart o rhas a video on it or anything If it was indeed a revolution it would be all over the Net and if not the net someone here would have:shock: explained the freaking thing..

A year or so ago, I contacted Forrest asking if he would refinish a body of mine paisley. He was very responsive and came up with a price. I ended off selling the body off before having it done. But I believe like a lot of people, he will do a lot of things if asked.
I have two paisley bodies some by Mark Moore that I'm very pleased with.

No doubt in my mind after going through the deepest dark pathway's on the Internet and dealing with crazies trying to sell some type of Bender that reminded me of a erector set contraption I made as a kid.. Forrest Lee Jr is as you said HOBBSTER01 Impeccable in everything he does. Speaking to Forrest was like speaking to a Brother. Once I receive my Guitar from Forrest I will be sure to share with everyone on this forum. Watching Forrest play his B Bender is proof of the pudding and all the souls he touches everywhere.
I want to thank everyone who helped me make this decision HOBBSTER01 woke me up! and made me really really think how dare you ... haha I apologize for having to come across strong on my original post's but I was searching for answer's once you take the "Red Pill" there is no going back.
I'm glad you saved me from myself and all those on ebay that responded so nicely to my email's and every vendor out there thank you for making my decision easier..

Greg M February 7th, 2012, 10:32 PM Paging Tim. Can we close this puppy?
Why would you want the thread closed? It's just a discussion right?
bearcattwang February 8th, 2012, 02:55 PM I fully agree with everyone here that if ya wanna a great Bender contact Forrest. You will not be disappointed! I own a b and g Bender he built and it is the real deal plus he is great to deal with!
Randyrocker February 28th, 2012, 01:16 PM No doubt in my mind after going through the deepest dark pathway's on the Internet and dealing with crazies trying to sell some type of Bender that reminded me of a erector set contraption I made as a kid..
Soon we will have some pic's :)
Sorry about the delay guys but I have had some life changing events.
I got my Guitar from Forrest Lee Jr and I cannot thank him and Cheryl enough they were great to deal with and I am so happy with my guitar she weighs in right about 6.5lb's now that rocks. I am haha I think bending to bend with the B-Bender but I do have forest's tutorials and have a great ear so I have been tinkering with it. well anyway here is one pic sorry about the lighting the guitar is actually a darker blue but all I have is my cell phone for a camera and it just does not take good pics.

Thanks Hobbster01 I really do love her. It was funny the other night was working on some Brent Mason type licks and Albert lee and all I did was just bump up the Gain on my HD500 a bit and hahah I found myself back in my more at home woods I started playing real old Judas priest (Delivering the Goods) haha and it sounded awesome very versatile. :) Thanks for all your Help Hobbster01 you surely made me see the light ;)
TelePeter February 28th, 2012, 05:41 PM Hey RandyRocker, that's a beautiful guitar! I think Forrest Lee deserves his own thread here in the bender forum. Why not start a "Forrest Lee Appreciation" thread using some more pictures of your new axe?
