Cheap easy fix for loose lever (Z bar)

Over time the lever (z bar) on my Hipshot has gotten harder and harder to keep tight enough to keep it from falling out. I have found that if I pull one of those rubber pads that they put around ink pens off it will slide right over the z-bar and give the Hipshot both more diameter to grab as well being a non slip material. If you do try this a little lubricant on the z bar helps slide it into the place you want it.

Hope this helps somebody

on a couple of mine that i have had 20+ years, yes the Z bar is hard to get "tight"...i carry a small pair of pliers with me just for that when i grab one of those guitars with the "loosies"....a quick little snug on the "wing nut" thingie and problem solved...

That works good too. I have been using a pocket knife. If you have an old pocketknife that you no longer want just break off the blade and the knife handle fits over the wing nut just perfect.

Whatever works

naw, too much hassle to pull the pin in and out; you'd still hafta carry a pair of needlenosers to do the cotter-pin thing, right..?

yer pocketknife or small pliers.....
