I have a Fender roadhouse strat and recently purchased a Callaham steel tremolo steel block. Unfortunately I bought the vintage block and even though my roadhouse is supposed to be a vintage style, the Callaham block I need is the standard style. Well I have to tap the whammy bar hole and now Im stuck with a block that wont fit and now Im stuck to decide if I want to blow another $60.00 for a block.

The reason Im having a hard time with the decision is because the Roadhouse block looks and feels heavier that the Callaham block,so Im unsure if getting the Callaham block is even a upgrade at this point.

Has anyone here swapped there Roadhouse strats block out for a Callaham?

Contact Callahan, I'll bet they'll swap it for you....

The zinc alloy is often heavier than the same part in steel.

Don't know if this helps, but I have 2 G + L ash Comanches, one with the whopping stock zinc alloy block and one with the Callaham. Used to be clones; now I have 2 distinctly different guitars. In a pinch I would keep the Callaham equipped one. Faster attack; crisp and clean.
