New pickups in, but pots not working?

I just finished putting in new pickups, pots, and a new cap to mod my MIM tele into a wannabe '52 hot rod. The pickups are in and sound great, but for some reason the pots aren't doing what they're supposed to? if you turn the volume down all the way, it's basically the same exact signal, with just a very slight drop in volume, if that. And the tone control doesn't control the tone at all. Instead, rolling the tone knob down makes the guitar louder - so it's 100% volume when tone is at 0, and about 75% volume when tone is at 10. I've included a picture of how everything is wired, and a brief explanation in case you can't tell where every thing is connected (it's kind of a hodge podge of wires):

-two 375k pots, .022 cap from volume lug 3 to tone lug 2
-yellow cloth wire from volume lug 1 to tone lug 3
-white wire from volume lug 2 to jack
-white wire from volume lug 1 to switch
-black wire from volume pot to jack
-red wire from volume pot to bridge (ground per Duncan's instructions)
-black cloth wire from volume pot to bridge pup
-yellow cloth wire from volume pot to braided wire sheilding on neck mini hum

Can anyone tell what I've done wrong?

For starters, you haven't grounded the Cap lead going to the Volume Pot to the back of the Pot.

What schematic are you trying to follow?

is it this one, http://support.fender.com/service_diagrams/telecaster/010-0202C_SISD.pdf

@mellecaster - great catch! I'll get to fixing it and see if that fixes the problem

@RussBert - no, I wasn't going for the 50's style wiring. I was just using standard MIM wiring (http://support.fender.com/service_diagrams/telecaster/013-5102B_SISD.pdf) but changed the neck pup to a firebird style minihum and changed the values of the pots and cap. Is there a flaw in this? I put the same pickups in my '69 thinline RI with no problems (I think it has the same wiring scheme?), but never messed with the pots or cap.

Anyone else have a thought?

Just follow the schematic and you'll be OK. Do you have 2 caps in there? The schematic shows 1

I've just got one. I think you may be seeing the reflection of the one cap from the back of the control plate.

Looks to me like the lug where the bridge (+) should go has a short lead going from the lug to ground.

I see what you're saying - actually, that's just the + bridge lead crossing the ground from the neck hum sheilding. It looks like a wire going straight from the switch to the volume pot, but it's just the angle and the fact that both wires are yellow cloth-covered.

Just ground the volume pot lug (with the cap lead attached) to the back of the pot and it will work, I'm sure.
