Oh, yeah, count me in.

My Logan Custom solidbody: Mahogany body with Bob's Darkened Mahogany stain, nitro-finished; B/W/B 3-ply pickguard; P-90 neck pup w/ black cover, which against the "blackground" of the blackguard I think gives a stealth pup, quasi-Esquire look; Birdseye Maple neck & board, with amber tint; gold appointments to accentuate the gold tones in the woods.

Okay, forget about the Phat Cat for a moment. What's the story on this guitar? Is the fretboard ebony or just a dark rosewood? I like the contrasting color scheme of silver body to the dark fretboard. And what's up with that body? It looks like a silver-plated Ruffles potato chip!  Is that some optical illusion in the pic, or am I seeing that right?

Thanks for the interest. The body is CNC machined out of a single block of aircraft aluminum. No optical illusion, it looks just like the pic. Fingerboard is Ebony with a 12"radius and stainless steel frets. The pups are custom wound Seymour Duncans, saddles and nut are by Graphtech. The body is hollowed out to reduce weight and this one comes in at 8 pounds. It's a great sounding and feeling guitar.

The link above shows the builder, Liquid Metal Guitars (LMG) out of Canada.

All Harmonic Design. Both have their S90 bridge pickups, the standard tele size pickup in the gold thinline is a Super Chrome, and the humbucker sized one in the sunburst is the Z90.

Anyone else here try to to build a P90? I ordered the vintage p90 set from stewmac a while back and threw it on my MP jaguar. I used a thicker copper wire and only about 7300 rotations. Gives me an awesome twangy clean sound and crunchy but defined gain sound. I'll post a picture soon.

JeffBlue, those are some eye-catching P-90 equipped Teles.

I've never seen a 3 pickup configuration quite like those second two. Do you use a standard 3-way switch with those? So what tones does this configuration give you?

Just finished playing my Logan Custom mahogany with the P-90 neck pup (see post #4 in this thread for pics and description), and so now I'm thinking of this thread.

I'm wondering how the balance and tones works for those of you with different pickup configurations than mine (vintage style Tele bridge pup w/ P-90 neck). And speaking of that, my question to you still stands, Jeffblue. I'm curious to know how those Teles w/ a P-90 in the middle work for you.

I thought the Dirty Harry was a humbucker pickup. Did some searching, and now I see that it can also refer to a Rio Grande Tele neck pup as well. They bill it as a Dirty Harry for Tele Neck RWRP, but describe it as "emulat[ing] the tonal characteristics of a P-90 pickup, but made for a Telecaster bridge opening." So I assume this pup can be used in either bridge or neck. You said "dirty harrys" (plural), so does that mean you have one in the bridge and one in the neck?

doesn't sound exactly like p-90's... but i didnt want them to

Hey Guys,

I didn't realize that there was a P90 club! I am glad to be a member. Although, not my first P90 guitar, I just finished a build with a killer PX-90 from Phil X and Arcane Pickups.

Here's a photo of it:
http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/zz92/Doth72/Tele%20Junior/2C3B44E7-13D2-4A15-8F66-D374A0EADDAD-323-000000217573D120.jpg

Click Here (http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-discussion-forum/333700-telecaster-junior-build.html) for the thread.

Here is my review of the PX-90:
"PX-90 Pickup Review

The pickup is flat out amazing. Built in a partnership with Phil X and Arcane Pickups, this is an outstanding P90. This pickup has 12.13k resistance and is a rock monster. It's rude and rowdy, however it always has an inherit clarity that cuts right through in any gain setting. You hear each note clearly. It is *extremely* responsive to the volume and tone positions. Backing off the tone gives it the fullness and "woman tone" of a neck pickup. Back off the volume, and the pickup cleans up very nicely. Although it is a high power P90, it is very quiet and easily controlled. The PX-90 is very touch sensitive, you can hear the subtlety of your fingers and their attack. I have a Lollar 5% P90 in another build, I love the Lollar, but the PX-90 blows it out of the water.

In addition, for this application, we put a push/pull in the tone pot that takes the tone control right out of the circuit when engaged, effectively giving me immediate access to two tone settings."

And here is a photo of my other P90 Tele (Lollar 5% Overwound)

Pine body, I made the stainless steel control plate, neck plate and B/W/B pickguard, Allparts TMO-fat neck with Planet Waves locking tuners, brass ferrule bar, 5 way switch, push pull tone pot and a Big D Varitone. I had an older SG Jr that I sold a few years ago and have regretted it ever since. I was building another tele and decided to satisfy that craving. Couldn't be happier.

I went with one of the Stew Mac Parsons Street p90's and absolutely love it.

This is a mahogany body with maple top and creme binding. Its also got a mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard.
