XKnight February 6th, 2011, 03:59 PM Did a search and didn't find a Fender Masterbuilt Club so lets start one. Show your guitar and who built it. Provide the specs if you'd like. Thanks!
I have a Telecaster Masterbuilt buy Jason Smith. It's one of the Wildwood 10s with a Brazilian board.

Thanks! Yes, it's translucent red which I guess is a somewhat unusual color. I've owned a lot of teles from many builders and this one is it for me. Here are a few more pics.

Dam fine tele!
bterry February 17th, 2011, 06:54 PM I'll have one in hand later today! I'll post some pics when I do...
It's a 1958 Stratocaster Relic - built by Paul Waller and it was part of the 2010 Roadshow at Wildwood Guitars. This was the guitar he brought to show off his skills as he is a newer addition to the CS Masterbuilt team. I guess he hand wound the pickups as well, based on the Fender Fat 50's style.
Oh, and nice Tele's, guys!
bterry February 19th, 2011, 11:55 AM Ok, here are a few pics of the Waller '58. It's a very light relic. I think it's a 1 piece ash body - I can't find a seam anywhere.
Cheers,
BT

Humbuster February 19th, 2011, 06:50 PM BT, that's gorgeous.
What does she weigh?
bterry February 22nd, 2011, 12:21 PM Hey,
Weighs a slight hair over 7lbs. A great, balanced guitar - the neck is just awesome, it's like a small boatneck but the neck tapers more, so down by the nut it is a bit smaller, but still full. It is very much like some of my favorite pre cbs necks on my '61 Jazzmasters, but instead of a D shape it has a very, very slight V shape to it.

That's a beauty. Very tastefully done Relic work. Looks like Paul Waller is coming along very nicely as the newest Fender Masterbuilder.

Eggsterguy March 12th, 2011, 03:22 PM Great thread idea! When I was in 9th grade I had a working band. My rig was a new '65 Tele and new '65 blackface BandMaster piggyback. Nostalgia hit me a few years ago and I hoped to find originals like the ones I had. The amp I found in Connecticut; the guitar was too expensive for me to buy anywhere...so I had Mark Kendrick build me one!
I told Mark I wanted something between a closet classic and a heavy relic - that I am a care freak and would never let my gear get beat up. We decided on light fretboard wear, slight chrome oxidation, and a faded -Arctic White/banana nitro finish.
The pickups are both Abbys (she signed them in gold ink and signed my Certificate below Mark's name, too). Had the modern wiring done, which is a deviation from my original '65...but I'm glad I did.
Finally, Mark let me choose my own serial number, which I did, including his initials as a prefix and mine as a suffix.
After delivery I removed the Gotoh vintage tuners and replaced them with real '65 2-line Klusons that I found on eBay.
Slammin' axe!
cjp60 July 17th, 2011, 05:25 PM Here's my 1997 Masterbuilt Telecaster by Art Esparza. I went with something totaly different that most. I have several older guitars so I didn't want a replica of an old guitar. It has a huge maple cap neck with 12" radius and 6105 frets. Lightweight Ash body, body contour and arm contour, Shaller tuners with pearl buttons, 1950's bridge setup with compensated sadles, 4 way wiring (series/parallel) Texas Special Pickups and two pickguards. I don't have any photos with the black guard which is currently on the guitar and IMO looks better. This guitar absolutely smokes!! Waited about 14 months for it.

Eggsterguy July 17th, 2011, 06:51 PM Congrads! She's a beauty and one of a kind. I like your specs, especially the bridge. Bet it sounds killer. Good luck with it, and many happy jams!
