I built this for a customer in California. It features a curly maple top and back with an end matched ash center. Inlaid into the back is a wedge of birdseye maple that I dyed lemon yellow to contrast with the golden brown dye. The front was stained with lemon yellow, amber, and golden brown Transtint dyes for a burst finish. I obtained the unfinished body from Jeff Neville, a real artist when it comes to Tele bodies.
The neck is from Musikraft. The neck wood is figured Anigre and the fretboard is Kingwood. I have never heard of Anigre, but is a dense wood with nice figuring.
The neck pickup is a PRS McCarty Bass humbucker that can be split by pulling up the volume pot knob. The bridge pickup is a Bill Lawrence Keystone. It's a nice mix of twangy single coil and humbucker tones.
