They never really appealed to me. Most likely because the head stock kind of looks like a ....well.....nevermind.

Seriously though...if you love the guitar...thats great. Nothing cooler than a guitar that you really bond with. I will say that that is a gorgeous finish on the body.

I love them, but never could afford one when they were available. And now? Not a chance of owning one. I love the whole concept of WR pickups on a semi-hollow. The headstock is a little large but what the heck, there are lots funkier designs out there. I wish Fender would reissue them.

Peace, Mike.

I think the Starcaster is a funky cool guitar. Personally I dig the hell out of the headstock (painted curve), the bullet truss rod, maple neck/fretbaords, and overall semi hollowbody style. They are quite the collectors item so prices are through the roof, but I would love to own one someday. Yours is beautiful, love the color.

They should really consider a quality reissue that only cost around $1500. I think with the right approach they could make it great and sell. Even if they just did a limited run of 500 or so.

I only ever knew one person who had one - a girl I went to high school with in '76 bought one after she graduated and was studying jazz with it, IIRC.

I'm curious as to the purpose of the 5th knob.

serious question. Can any of you starcaster owners perhaps do a tracing of your guitar for me? Thinking about building a clone and I can't find any information regarding size and stuff. thanks
