Are there any alternatives to the GK-2A which is incredibly expensive and I'd rather not buy? There's got to be something compatible with it, I've got a VGA-7 by Roland (amp) and I want to be able to access its GK features but of course you've got to purchase the damn pick up :?
So yeah....

What are the chances?
Chris Rice here...remember me?

Anyways, you need the Roland pickup. My dad (Rich (hey--you know him too!!)) had a Godin LGX-SA that used the piezo pickups to drive the Roland (but it had circuit boards inside, and the Roland output). He sold it.

The thing is, that the Roland has a separate pickup for each string, and that is necessary to achieve decent tracking of the synth tones.

Cool thing is, these seem to hold their value if you buy used. Get one, try it, if you don't like it, you can probably sell it for close to what you paid.

Is Dan still taking lessons from Erik? I know Erik had the GK-2A and may sell it if he's not using it.
There are a bunch on eBay right now, completed auctions seem to be in the $100-$150 range.

Good luck!!

Whoooaaaa hey hahaha. Thanks much! Yeah Dan is still taking lessons from erik...eric...how ever that is spelled. Anyways yeah. I see that they can be bought new for 175 and sell for just as much used :( Luckily, people aren't to bright and there's a few under priced ones for like 20 dollars (of course shipping is like 15 which is bs) but what ever. Thanks!
