Boolywho December 27th, 2010, 02:36 PM I was just wondering if anyone has found any electrosocket-like jack plates that actually work with right-angle plugs? I'm trying to find a jack plate/plug (or whatever you'd call it) to install on my tele build that is the best of both worlds. That is to say, I don't want to mount it externally with screws going into the outside of the body (i.e. I want it to mount inside my 7/8" jack hole, like an electrosocket, etc., does), but I'd also like to have it be able to accommodate right-angle jack plugs, and amPlugs, and all the rest of the things that normal electrosockets can't handle. Any suggestions?
ironweed December 27th, 2010, 02:43 PM If you take the washer off the 1/4" jack and screw it all the way into an Electrosocket, it will stick out far enough to mate with most/all right angle plugs.

mellecaster December 27th, 2010, 06:11 PM Also be advised that some suppliers carry the Switchcraft Jack w/ the longer threaded Bushing....that's all I use in Teles...I save the Std. length for Strats.

Mellecaster,
How do you know which one you're getting? Can you give tell me specific suppliers that you know carry the long or short version?
Also, while we're on the subject of Electrosockets, can anyone tell me if these will fit in a standard 7/8 hole that hasn't been flattened? That is, the body is still curved where the jack hole was made? I've heard contradictory things on this subject and would like to clear it up once and for all. Thanks.

Yes he does and it is a very nice one. I have one that will go on my next double bound TeleMaster body that Marc made for me. I also plan to use one of his bridges if I can decide which style I will use on this unique guitar. Anything Marc makes is of steller quality and high function. Not to mention .....he is a great guy to have on your guitar build team!

Ironweed,
Do you have any pictures of how this looks with the jack sticking out a bit from the electrosocket hole?
Deeve January 23rd, 2011, 11:46 PM Hey mate - I goofed w/ this for a while and found the oval/football shaped plate worked best for my sortacaster. I really like the right-angle plugs, too and find this works well.
Best - Deeve

This what I do. Electrosocket with the included jack from Warmoth. Works great, looks great.
I'll post a pic of mine tonight if no one else beats me to it.
