plastic handle, off a 1986 '62 r.i Strat tweed case...any suggestions on repair/replace?
also, does anyone know if this '62 r.i. strat is supposed to have a 3-ply guard?

If that's too expensive, you can rig up a temporary handle with a red or blue bandana that will go for years.

You will need to pull back the liner inside the case. Not much, just enough to get in there. Drill out the heads of the rivets and remove the old handle brackets. Install the replacement handle using countersunk 8-32 bolts and nuts. Cut off the protruding threads of the bolt and file them smooth. Push back the liner and it will cover the whole repair. You may need some contact cement to hold the liner but ususlly not.

looks like leather strap handles with D-rings will be the ideal choice...the right color
