Rat chip question

I picked up a used Proco Rat today, opened it up to try and date it (I've dated many rats, but this was my first pedal... sorry, couldn't resist), it turns out by pot codes to be a 1987, which I think makes it a Rat 2, but the chip code is LMN308N, from everything I've read, it should be a LM308. Does anyone know if this is the same thing?
After goofing around with this thing for a couple of hours, OMG!! Now I know what all the fuss is about, what a fantastic pedal, from mild to wild, it remains so defined, it just sings!! Defenetly a keeper.
Thanks in advance for any help

I think the LM308N was the correct chip in the RAT. I think people just forget to the N sometimes when talking about them.

Yeah, the N gets dropped in discussions, much like you never hear people say that their TS has a JRC4558D.
