Looks good. Is it just the top picture, or does that guitar have some comfort contouring?

Yes. It has a belly contour.

Interesting. Never seen one like that, much less played one. Does the contour make any difference?

Wow, nice guitar. Congrats.

I just ordered an American Deluxe Tele today at my local shop.

It's quite common, stolen idea from a Strat. It's more comfortable to hold.

Wow, nice guitar. Congrats.

Thanks. 90 days will feel like an eternity waiting on that baby. Dod you order the 3 tone burst with maple neck too? It seems like a Guitar Center would stock them. I see you live in LA (lower Alabama).

I've never noticed the back of the bodies where the neck meets. How does that help with playability when you get up on the high notes? Certainly makes for an interesting neck plate.

No, but I did really consider the cherry burst. I thought long and hard about the color and decided to go with the tungsten that is offered this year. I don't know if it will be discontinued soon or not, but I wanted to get something a little different. I think it looks sharp with the white binding. I did a mock-up with an online bulder and changed the pickguard color from black to white and it was just . . . Right:cool:.

I went with a rosewood board. This will be my first Tele that isn't maple, but I have been playing a PRS lately, so I am probably just in a rosewood phase. I did play an American Standard Tele with rosewood in the shop several times lately and have really liked it.

As for GC, I have been disappointed, to say the least, in them in this area (2 hours away). I have a local shop that will give me better deals than they will anyway (long time customer). Whenever possible, I shop here.

Also, we are all from L.A. in these parts.

I've a cherry burst that is a few years old. Glad to see that Fender is now installing locking tuners on the Deluxe.

Congrats Terry, beautiful guitar!

How do you like those new noiseless pickups?

I'd like to be in the club too, based on my purchase today of a blonde model (guitar, that is). Also, celebrating by making my first post here...

It's easier to get to those ultra valuable notes on the 22nd fret. It really does, but I no use for anything up that high.

Well congrats. I'm glad you have a local shop that give you good offerings.

I love them. They are the most "single coil sounding" stacks I have ever heard. I took that puppy to a recording session a few days after I got it. I was very impressed with the pickups.

I recently purchased an American Deluxe Ash telecaster. It's a 2008 model that I purchased new; it has the S1 switching and the SCN pickups. I really like it - it's an all around good guitar (neck feel, guitar weight, etc). The band I play in plays a variety of music - surf, rock, and jazz - and this guitar does a lot if it and does it very well. It's a very versatile guitar and my first telecaster. I miss not having the tremolo bridge for some of the surf stuff, but the tones are pretty surf-like.

Once I get around to taking pictures and learn how to post them (2 different and separate processes!) I'll post some pictures.

Hi all,

I just finished my am dlx telecaster. The whole guitar is bought in spare parts from ebay US and a local store here in Stockholm, Sweden. Everything is genuine Fender except for the pickguard, control plate and some wiring. I am still waiting for my Lindy Fralin blues specials to arrive, so I put in a dimarzio twang kings I had laying around until I recieve the LFBS.

This guitar is quite unique with a new am dlx ash neck from 2009, that is slightly thicker than the ordinary dlx. The specs say it is a '52 U shape , but I would say it is more of a 60s C shape (not modern C), which suits me perfect. Otherwise, it has the same specs, with compound radius, medium jumbo frets etc. The body is from 2007 and has a couple of small dings.

I also decided to go for a 4 way switch instead of the S-1 switch. It has all the sounds I am looking for anyway.

So here it is:

Don't have any pics but bought my 2010 American Deluxe Ash Tele in butterscotch blonde two weeks ago. My other main guitar is a 2009 Les Paul Traditional in the iced tea finish. I was looking for a two pickup guitar for a backup that was a little different with a different general tone that could also cover SOME of the same territory as my LP. What a fantastic guitar the Tele is; it looks great like a 50s Tele, plays like butter, and the tone from the N3 pups into my Budda is absolutely seductive. I brought only my Tele to the last band practice just to see what tunes it would work for...I could do 'em all if I needed to. I won't, because I still love the LP and it smokes for some heavier stuff but I can't get my Tele's tone outta my head. So cool!

I love my 2010 American Deluxe Ash in Butterscotch. Rough start when I ordered it because it took forever and then the guitar didn't match the specs on Fender's website. They have since corrected the website. It also arrived with a dead neck pickup that had to be replaced.

It's a great sounding guitar, I love the pickups. The neck has become the neck that I use in all of my builds. Tommy at USACG now has it on file for me.

It IS a great guitar aint it?! I was lucky...I was going to GC for something minor and thought I'd call 'em and ask if they had one in stock. All of the online stores were back-ordered but GC had just gotten one in the day prior. It didn't last long!

Last saturday I went with a friend to our local
GC. There I played the new American Deluxe
Telecaster and my my friend said that's the
one for you. I do have some money saved
and I think buy the end of the summer I'll
have what I need to buy the guitar. That
same day in the afternoon I found out that
I don't have a job anymore just when thing
were looking good. Its a set back but things
will work out. With the new American Deluxe
what Amp are you playing thru:?: I play 50's
and 60's music from Little Richard, Beatles
Beach Boys, Jan and Dean just to name a few:grin:

I'm the proud new owner of a Tele American Deluxe body! Now I just need to find a neck to pair up with it and I'll be in business.

Mine will end up looking a little different once I'm done, but I can't wait to finish.

My body is the Cherry burst, but I'm really loving that three tone look with a white or black pickguard. I plan to add a pearloid to mine.

Edit* Just sent money for a 2009 American Deluxe Tele neck!

And so it begins...
