I know opinions are like A**##&&^%, but I am tired of noise.
Shielding this git proved minimal at best.
What pup will give me Don and Buck twang and remain noiseless?
Does it exist?
Please advise.

A buddy of mine has a set of Kinman 60s Custom pickups in his Tele and they seem fairly twangy to me. They are very quiet.

I put a set of Dimarzio Area-Ts in both my parts caster and my 72 Custom Reissue (bridge) and they definitely sound like Teles, but perhaps with a little less top end and a bit more mid girth.

Anyhow, some possible options.

+1 on the Kinman 60s--i had a set in a mij62 and they were bang on for the tone you're after (ie Bakersfield in the bridge position?_) The middle position was the best I've ever had in a tele also, great match between bridge and neck and I found that position ideal for what I was after which was a memphis soul sound.

Wilde L280TL. It was discontinued several years ago, but they just made a new batch and are available again for a limited time. This pickup has incredible twang. It sounds very much like the SD Vintage Broadcaster (a tad less rude, but very clear treble) and when mated with an L280TN, you will have an incredible sounding, noise-free Tele. Cleans to die for.
Oh, and inexpensive (I think they are still $40 each)

Although they are not noiseless, you might want to consider the custom shop Nocaster set. They are hum canceling in the middle position and sound great!

I have owned both sets, and like the 48's better. The 60's was a bit too thin in the midrange for me. But some equate the less midrange sound with twang, which is fair.

Interesting. I purchased the '48 set, but the Mark II version that he still doesn't have listed on the site. I don't think that the bridge pickup has enough Tele Twang to it. This is my first Tele, but I think the '48 set bridge is very mid-rangy. Maybe I am just looking for a different sound. I completely love the middle position, and the neck is very good too. It's just the bridge pickup that I am not too happy with. I was considering getting the bridge from the '60s set.
Now I'm not sure again.
