I'm building a Tele, using two types of woods that I'm a little unfamiliar with, a Maple top with a Pine body. I've done this before, but the bodies have always been ready for finally sanding and then painting. I would like do some kind of stain so I can see the grain(first time doing this too, I usually just paint solid colors). I'm pretty good with a sprayer, but I need help getting to that stage. There are holes in the body that I know will require filler of some sort and I have about a half gallon of lacquer clear coat that I would like to use. If anyone could help me with the different material to purchase that will not conflict with the lacquer I would really appreciate the help. Here are some pictures of the body.http://www.tdpri.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

i think you routed it wrong way. it is like a picture in the mirror!
can`t help with stain but for blonde finishes mix clear with 10-15% of opaque colour of your choice( usually yellow with bits of brown and tini red)
the older guy will be able to tell you more.
