LarsMartin October 30th, 2010, 04:35 PM Hi Twangers and telemaniacs.
4 months has gone since last project together with Kevin.
This time I went for some Hiland stuff - cause I wanted to raise the bar
on my speed and picking technique. And damn I almost crashed on that project. Hiland is INSANE fast and INSANE precise in his playing....and I'm not
Anyhow - hope you'll enjoy it.
Keep pickin' and uploadin'
PS: you can download backingtrack and TABS if you jump to Youtube.

dtermined2play October 30th, 2010, 04:38 PM sounds great
Ormond October 30th, 2010, 06:06 PM Stunningly wonderful. This is one of the toughest pieces there is, and nobody has covered it yet - and it is not likely anybody will! You will see my other comments on the YouTube page itself - but suffice to say the playing is superb and the tone - damn, the tone is just insane. Sounds like something cut in a big Nashville studio. You built an amazing backing track too. Technically this is about a 9+ difficulty level - but you got through those fast passages at the same speed Johnny recorded them. Pretty amazing.
Great, great work - I know it took a ton of work to get this one down.
Kevin.
Farmer Brown October 30th, 2010, 08:27 PM Most excellent!!!

I'm working on Hiland's "Chicken Pickin Heroes" right now. It's tough stuff to figure out but feels so good once it's under the fingers and in muscle memory.
13ontheB November 2nd, 2010, 07:36 PM man what tone ..please share your setup
Yes Lars, Please Please,Please.
Ormond November 2nd, 2010, 08:33 PM Lars did put up a 7 minute video of his hand/finger technique and how he recorded it - - but I do not see it now. Maybe he will post a link when he checks back in here.
LarsMartin November 3rd, 2010, 04:10 AM Hi Guys.
Thanks for your feedback. This forum is such a pleasure to be in.
Kevin is right - I've got a video to be uploaded on how-to but I'm struggling with a problem on youtube - the sound is distorted and out of sync....weird - cause I use the same M.O as always...will drop a post here when its up.
Ormond November 3rd, 2010, 04:21 PM You should throw it up on VIMEO to see if you have the same problem.....
LarsMartin November 5th, 2010, 02:50 AM I have made a sound setup video showing what I used and how I recorded the soundtrack. Hope it's worth watching - I need a cameraman

ADinNYC November 30th, 2010, 10:03 AM Come on Lars, we're all waiting for the next big posting! :-)
LarsMartin December 1st, 2010, 12:28 AM haha...thanks for dropping by ADinNYC and giving me "the kick". It will take some months before I've got something to post again. Steep learning curves never been my strong side :-)
shorty ray December 3rd, 2010, 09:59 AM That's some fine pickin Lars...send some more that's my kind of music!
Ormond December 5th, 2010, 02:35 AM Lettin' ya know I checked out your backing track that you have made available to everyone - - the solo is great, but you should get some credit for putting that tough thing together too!
LarsMartin December 5th, 2010, 09:27 AM Thanks Kevin. I never reached to the point of what I intended with the backingtrack. I was planning on getting a real drummer with e-drums into studio...but too much hustle. Can't wait to see your new release...yeehoow!!
ADinNYC December 5th, 2010, 11:53 PM Waiting ever so patiently Lars! :-)
tgfmike December 6th, 2010, 12:23 AM I'm glad this got bumped - I missed it back in October. Very cool stuff Lars.
fphh December 6th, 2010, 12:51 AM Clap clap clap!
