Old P90 ID

Hey guys, I came across a set of old P90 pickups and I was wondering if ya'll could help me indentify them.

They have black covers, the lead wires are very small guage, both black. They both Ohm out right at 8K.

There aren't any distinguishing marks on either of them other than what is stamped into the inside of the cover
"UC 452 B"

They certainly appear to have a few years on 'em and I'd like to find out if they are real Gibson P90's, or older aftermarket PUPs or just cheap crap. Thanks for any help.

Well, I am not a P-90 expert by any means, but I have never seen Gibby P-90's with any leads other than the standard type. The ones with the braided cover that serves as the ground wire. Like wise, I have never seen a duncan or like-quality P-90 with small guage black leads, usually this would indicate a cheapo-copy, most likely imported. Don't let that get you down though, I've used some cheapo no name pickups that sounded really cool, most notably, a set that came out of Guyatone Mosrite copy. They looked like dominoes, almost like the old Fralins that Paul Reed Smith used on the original EG's, and were light as a feather, but man did they sound cool and lo-fi twangy.

My dad had a pair of P90's from 60's Gibson SGs

One was about '62, the other a little later.

I don't remember which, but one did have the two skinny wires, the other had the braid. I think it was the 62 with the wires.

I had a '70s gibson P-90 that had a clear bobbin and two think lead wires. Black and red I think.
