Randy,
Since no one replied to this, I'll add my limited knowledge:

Bar across the bottom 4 strings with your first finger. Pre-bend the 2nd or third string up a half step. Double stop the one you've got pre-bent and the E. Let the bent string come back down while holding both it and the E.

You're only barring across the 4 strings to mute the 4th so it doesn't ring when you bump it.

Hope this helps!

I've got one that I saw either Albert Lee or Ray Flacke use..........can't remember.

Anyway, go up to say the 14th fret and 3rd finger on the A string, 4th finger on the D string. Now drop the index finger back three frets on the G string. Hit the 5th and 4th strings and as you hit the 3rd string pull your index finger down to raise it a whole step. This gives you an E.

Now repeat the process but drop the A string down to the 13th fret. Repeat again dropping the A string to the 12th fret. It has a nice little steel walkdown.

I actually use this lick in the middle or towards the end of a solo at times. It's not just a gimmick it will work.

You have to be a little selective because if you get back down to around the 9th fret it's hard to get that 3 fret spread and still have the leverage for the bend.

Also, Guitar College, who puts out a monthly or so DVD has a very, very good steel guitar licks lesson this month. I believe you can find them at GuitarCollege.com.

Good luck,

Jerry
