Has anyone ever used Parallam as a body wood? Would you think it would work well as a Tonewood? If so/not Why?

You don't need to use a "tonewood" for an electric guitar.
Tonewoods are used for acoustic instruments - instruments where the wood creates the tone. Plywood is suitable for electric guitars - both Fender and Gibson use it.
Before Leo, I'm not sure anyone thought of Ash as a "tonewood" - and if you were building a guitar where the wood created the tone ... I'm not sure you would either!

Never even heard of it.
Structural timber - stronger than the wood it's made from as the faults in the wood are removed. It's essentially long-strand parallel OSB.

Well then, why not? If it ends up heavy chamber it. Might have to put that on my "round2it" list.

Most people will see it as a very expensive piece of Zebrano. Awesome.

Yeah the density is a bit much but it says it can be made (partly) from Poplar so I figured it could be good. I'm having a wood worker friend of mine try it out. He's always been interested to try it but now that you mention it I might have a pretty weighty piece of plank on my hands...

All the glue-lam I've dealt with (while building houses) has been chippy and splintery as hell. Gotta say that bowl looks cool though.

I guess while I'm here I might as well ask, Does anyone have a telecaster-sized piece I could buy off of you? (dimensions only, not pre-cut-out)

It's pretty dense. The body weight will be similar to one built from mahogany.

Martin uses something like it on some of their lower end necks

By the way... not my bowl... (shouldn't take credit for what's not mine)
