Hey,
I was looking at the 12 inch Celestion Greenback but since the store i was at lacked that speaker, i was wondering how it differentiates itself from the Classic Celestion. I was looking around the boards and i didn't find much..Any thoughts?

Well, for one thing, the greenback is a 25 watt speaker. It's known for warm, woody tones. The classic is an 80 watt speaker meant more for rock type stuff.

Completely different speakers with only the Celestion name in common.

It really depends on the amp. I love a Greenback for certain things, especailly for overdriven tones, when you want the speaker to really get into the shaping of the OD tone.

I've got a Greenback in my Alamo Montclair Reverb right now. It's a dual 6V6 amp, offering about 12 or 15 watts. Cranked up to 100% of volume, that amp is just barely loud enough for a gig (I still have to mic it). For me, that is the perfect situation for a Greenback.

If you've got a higher power amp, and rarely have the opportunity to crank it to full potential, you may not even be able to hear a huge difference.

Also, if you have a higher power amp, and like spanky clean tones, the Greenback is probably not the right speaker.

The speaker would be driven through a 15 watt traynor, i was just wonder which has "better" tones, clean and overdriven. I guess its a matter of prefrence
