Anyone else here going to this; November 27 at the 100 Club in Oxford Street, London ?

Has to be one of the most inspirational guitarists ever ( well for me anyway !) and he nearly always played a tele.

I know the Animals are playing along with Wilko, I guess there'll be some one playing the Pirate's stuff.

Jeez, I wish. It'd be pretty difficult for me to convince the wife that we needed to fly to London for one night!

Hello Hello--

Yeah, I heard about this gig. I'm stuck in the USA.....
I hope everyone has a great time and they get some money to help with Mick's medical bills.
Brian.

Man, do I wish! A major influence on me since I was a teenager. Between WHFS and a gig at the Cellar Door, The Pirates got plenty of props around the D.C. area roots rock community. I got to meet him once too. Nice humble guy. The world's a little smaller without him.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard about it but I'll try to get along.

I saw The Pirates in 1977, and 're-discovering' them a few years a go made me want to take learning the guitar more seriously, so I got a Tele.

A great player, and it will be a nice way to remember him.

Great guitar player! One of the first proper gigs I went to was the Pirates back in 77. Recently bought a 2CD set of original Johnny Kidd stuff. Mick was playing some amazing stuff back then, too - and wow, can Johnny Kidd sing!
