So I sold my Epiphone Thunderbird on Craiglist, and purchased this Squier CV Jazz Bass; at Best Buy of all places, because they were the only ones who had one in stock.

I had to lower the action a LOT. The G saddle is adjusted almost all the way down to the bridge plate. It has VERY small vintage type frets, and I think a 9.5" radius. This sharp neck taper is going to take some getting used to. It's SO narrow at the nut! The Thunderbird neck is very wide and flat. I am in love with the sound of this bass though, so I'm willing to adapt. The tone control has a very wide range of effect. When it's rolled down it actually seems to not only cut the highs but boost the lows, and even with all the pots wide open the bass never sound thin or too trebly.

I'm waiting for a set of light gauge Rotosounds to arrive so I can make it play as smoothly as my T-Bird. It's certainly a lot lighter than the Epiphone! Other than the stock strings, which I hate, once I get this properly set up, it's going to be nice!
